“Awesome place!! We walked in with a group of 11 at 8:50 pm, and the kitchen closed at 9, but they told us no big deal, go ahead and order food, which was so kind! The food was amazing, and they took time to explain everything. We had plenty of room to sit and enjoy ourselves, with three levels of seating. Even when it was time for them to close the taps, they gave us a heads up, but because we were talking too much we forgot to grab a last drink, so they turned it back on for us! They could have been so annoyed with a large group of chatty women, but instead they were so hospitable! Can't wait to return!!“

“One of the true hidden gems of the Twin Cities metro, an absolutely fantastic nerd and even kid-friendly space (foosball, arcade machines, darts are all favorites). There are few better places to meet up and play a game - personally, not being a sports person, I love the lack of TVs, nothing to sap your attention or make you feel captive to random commercials. I go there regularly to play TTRPGs. Great beer, alcoholic and non-alcoholic seltzers, you can BYOF (Mashawi grill up the road is delicious). The beers aren't the usual 6 IPAs and 5 sours, there's a nice mix of British and German styles (including wheat beers, which are weirdly hard to find).

There are absolutely a million play spaces in different nooks and crannies in the building, you can always find a quiet place to play even if there's music, etc. The owner hosts tons of events, nerdy and otherwise. I only wish I could drink more beer and go more often.“

“The Bulldog is a pretty standard place, warm beer, stiff drinks, but the reason I'm giving it a five star review is because of our server Hannah. She was AWESOME! When my friend and I visited town recently we went to the longfellow location as the university location was closed that day. This was just as great and honestly was probably a bit quieter too. “I have been to Pub 42 many times either by myself or with a party up adds of 6 people. The atmosphere is inviting and friendly. We have had the pleasure of having Riley and Iza as our servers on many occasions and I can’t stress how kind and accommodating both of them are, I have celiac disease and they are knowledgeable about the ingredients and the process of the food so that I am safe when eating there. Including the double checking and making sure that my food is gluten free, and with very limited chance of cross contamination. Both do a great job of making sure the food is good and arrives at an appropriate time, while being friendly and kind and connecting with us as patrons. I would recommend pub 42 to anyone and everyone and tell them to request being seated in either Riley or Iza’s section to guarantee them the best of service available.“

“I got into Minneapolis at 1130am, and wanted to get a bite to eat. Almost all of the eating establishments in the area were closed, except this place. Good food, good beer, great atmosphere, and great music. You can tell that this is a 'locals favorite'. Put this place on your list, as a good place to chill.“

“This place has character! One of the chefs, Nate, let me try a new creation of his. I’m not sure if it’s going to become a menu item but it was the best burger I’ve had in a while. The house kettle chips were so thin and crispy, also the best I’ve had possibly ever. I’m not a fan of buffalo or blue cheese typically, but I trusted his taste with this burger and boy I’m glad I did. 10/10! Everything went together so well. “Love the new space. Digital signage said burgers were $3 on Wednesdays. They were $4. Still tasty and a great deal, but update your sign. I sat for 10 minutes and watched the server take a picture of people at a table and chat with her friends. Never came near my high top table. I finally went to the bartender (very nice) who took my drink and food order. Server swung by 10 minutes later (20 minutes after I sat down). Told her I ordered from the bartender. She never stopped by after that. I was there for 45 minutes, saw her interact with her tables twice. Service was pretty scarce. 2 or 3 staff sitting in a booth. If the bartender hadn't been awesome, I would have left. Burger and onion rings were good.“

“I have been to Pizza Pub in Blaine multiple times now, and I do want to start by saying that I personally do like the pizza. The rest of my crew doesn’t seem to love it as much as I do, but I have always been willing to give it another try because I do enjoy the flavor.

That being said, I have had a couple of service/order issues that have made the experience frustrating.

On one visit, I came in by myself and ordered a pepperoni pizza. When the manager brought the pizza out, it had sausage on it. I mentioned that it wasn’t mine because I had ordered pepperoni. The bartender then realized the mistake and said they had accidentally ordered sausage and pepperoni. Instead of remaking it, the manager asked if I could just eat it and suggested I pull the sausage off.

It was honestly a little awkward to even be asked, so I said okay. The issue was that their sausage is not small crumbles. It is big, almost meatball-style pieces, so when I tried to pull it off, the entire top of the pizza came with it. What made it more frustrating was that when the bill came, I was still charged for the pizza, including the additional toppings. That didn’t make a lot of sense to me, especially since it wasn’t what I ordered.

On my most recent visit, I ordered a personal pizza and a “side” salad. The salads come in full or half sizes, and I was brought a full salad and charged for the full. I will take some responsibility for not being more specific, but I also feel like when someone orders a personal pizza and asks for a side salad, most experienced servers or bartenders would probably clarify or assume the smaller option.

At this point, it feels like there is a recurring theme where something is just a little off with the ordering or service process. I always try to give a place at least three chances before writing it off, but I am starting to get frustrated.

I did notice they have a new menu, and I also saw on Facebook that they have a new GM, so I am hopeful that maybe some things are being corrected. I will likely be back again to give it another try, and I will also make sure I am extra clear when ordering. I do like the pizza, so I am not ready to give up on it yet, but I do hope the service and attention to detail improve.“
