“3 of us dined here on Sunday afternoon. It was still busy at 2:30 fyi. This has been a fav. place of ours for many years. The physical updates are nice, and last summer we even sat outside on the side patio. Our food was good this time, but not great. The tofu banh mi was ok, but could have been better. A huge bun that could have used more fillings, and something other that potato chips would have upscaled it a bit. Tofu/veggie noodle soup was good, but not as much tofu as they used to put in it. the combo Pho was good, but not very flavorful, lacking more stuff in it. We had the fried veggie dumplings that were small and greasy. We are used to larger dumplings at other places and these were half the size. Sauce that came with them was good. We all said we would come back, but not get the things we had ordered this time as they didn't excite us. They weren't great. Our server was very attentive, quick, professional and kind.“

“If you are a rice plate girly like me I think you would like this place. I ordered the pork grilled rice plate and my husband had their beef pho. I really enjoyed their rice plate. I am not a big fan of the sprouts and small lettuce mix they added to this but I think if they took that out and added more tomatoes and cucumbers, it would be a much better option. I normally don't like the small pork bits most placed add but this place actually does a good mix with salami. If they replaced the egg with a fried egg, I think the plate would be more complete.I have had a lot of rice plates over the years and this place does a nice job overall. The price of the plate isn't bad and if you want a bowl of broth it's only $3 to add the broth.Overall, I would come back again. We also came right when they opened so it was just us.“

I think the food is decent but it’s not a location I recommend if someone is looking for “the best local Vietnamese” spot. There are definitely better locations relatively close by for more vibrant pho dishes but the pho here is pretty dang solid!The thing that gets me the most with this restaurant is is seems like they cook all the stir fry dishes (lo mein, chicken and vegetable stir fry, etc) in either the same oil as they do their seafood dishes or use tons of fish sauce. Each stir fry dish comes out tasting like fishy seafood which makes me not want to order these types of dishes from here.The ox tail soup is good, the carrot something stew is amazing, good Bahn Mi, and very crispy eggrolls! Overall a good spot to get your fix but when I have the time and patience to go elsewhere I do. For the price they charge, I would rather go elsewhere with better food.“

“Authentic? Absolutely! How can it not be? The chef is authentically Hmong, his experiences are Hmong, and thus his food is ? Hmong! Traditional? Not completely. I love it for what it is…an evolution of the Hmong food diaspora here in America! While visiting my beautiful niece and her little family, I had a strong hankering to eat Hmong food. She suggested this brilliant establishment. The wait was short and the portions abundant. While eating I was transported back to mom/dad’s kitchen, and the after school meals they would prepare for us! The sausage is excellent and had all the flavors of Hmong new year. Lemongrass, fat, herbs, salt…and crunch! The pork was perfectly cooked and we loved dipping it in hot sauce along with the sticky rice. I highly recommend this authentic Hmong dining experience and can not wait to dine at Vinai next time I visit. I just wish Seattle had something similar. “This is my favorite pho location. I've tried many places and their broth cannot be beat. The freshness of their meats as well. Their peanut sauce is far above any other Vietnamese location I've been to. After the pandemic the chicken wings definitely changed so we don't get them like we used to. I think the pate could have used a bit more flavor but the pickles were top notch. The tofu spring rolls were decent. Not a ton of flavor on the tofu and only a few veggies. A crispy tofu skin or pickled daikon would have made it perfect. The peanut sauce was a little thin and not very pepper-forward. It was good but not my favorite in the cities (Young Man).
