“The shrimp tom yum soup was delicious!! Very flavorful and just the right amount of heat. The cream cheese wontons were the best I’ve had in a long time. Our server was a total sweet heart and was very knowledgeable of the menu. We will be back for more!!“
“A short baguette and a croissant, That was good enough that my daughter asked to become French, And I told her it Wasn't French it was Vietnamese. And I had to explain that she cannot become French or Vietnamese. But after years of studies, she can learn to bake like them.“
“We had the grilled pork bahn mi, state fair cream cheese wontons, tofu and potato chips, grilled pork bun salad, and garlic chicken wings. The food was flavorful, and every bite was delicious! I will definitely come back and try the other items on the menu.“
“If you are a rice plate girly like me I think you would like this place. I ordered the pork grilled rice plate and my husband had their beef pho. I really enjoyed their rice plate. I am not a big fan of the sprouts and small lettuce mix they added to this but I think if they took that out and added more tomatoes and cucumbers, it would be a much better option. I normally don't like the small pork bits most placed add but this place actually does a good mix with salami. If they replaced the egg with a fried egg, I think the plate would be more complete.I have had a lot of rice plates over the years and this place does a nice job overall. The price of the plate isn't bad and if you want a bowl of broth it's only $3 to add the broth.Overall, I would come back again. We also came right when they opened so it was just us.“
“Live nearby and love to support local businesses, especially business owned by BIPOC/immigrant business owners.I come here often but mostly out of convenience of it being so close. I think the food is decent but it’s not a location I recommend if someone is looking for “the best local Vietnamese” spot. There are definitely better locations relatively close by for more vibrant pho dishes but the pho here is pretty dang solid! The thing that gets me the most with this restaurant is is seems like they cook all the stir fry dishes (lo mein, chicken and vegetable stir fry, etc) in either the same oil as they do their seafood dishes or use tons of fish sauce. Each stir fry dish comes out tasting like fishy seafood which makes me not want to order these types of dishes from here. The ox tail soup is good, the carrot something stew is amazing, good Bahn Mi, and very crispy eggrolls! Overall a good spot to get your fix but when I have the time and patience to go elsewhere I do. For the price they charge, I would rather go elsewhere with better food.“
“One of my favorite lunch spots! They make my favorite egg rolls in town, and very good pho and vermicelli bowls. I also like the mi wonton if you’re looking for a non-rice based noodle. If you go as often as I did, they even remember your name and go-to orders “
“This little shop is a hidden gem right on Grand Ave!! They have such unique craft foods and local gifts. And to boot, you can enjoy a tasty sandwich from the deli while doing a little shopping! This is the kind of place that makes Saint Paul feel like a small town. Charming, fresh, local, and friendly. I loved the meatball sandwich and can't wait to go back to try the bahn mi... Thanks for the perfect relaxing springtime lunch on your cute, cozy patio!!“
“This place has awesome pho! It is not a big place but food comes out fast and delicious! The chili sauce on the table clears out sinuses which felt really great with all the weather fluctuations we've had recently. I got the small size of the house #2 and that was perfect! We also got some egg rolls for the table. I had a virgin coconut drink that was ideal when I had too much spice! I know I'll be back for the pho!“
“This is my favorite pho location. I've tried many places and their broth cannot be beat. The freshness of their meats as well. Their peanut sauce is far above any other Vietnamese location I've been to. After the pandemic the chicken wings definitely changed so we don't get them like we used to. But everything else has been satisfactory.“
“This is my go-to spot for warm comfort and nourishment. The pho and soups come in a thousand varieties. Ok, that's a small exaggeration, but it makes the point. The fresh ingredients and layered flavors keep me coming back. I usually do takeout. But the chef recently told me to eat on-site next time -- while the food is piping hot. I think I may do that! It's friendly, unpretentious, reasonably priced goodness.“
