From the first encounter with owners to save the date and work of the details to the last encounter with their staff closing out the bar bill everything was TOP NOTCH! “This VFW has become our go to Bingo bar on Monday nights. We love this place, the food, the people, etc. Only gets 4 stars instead of 5 bc they charge for REFILLS of soda from the gun. Thats a horrible business practice. I dont know if they are told to or if the wait staff is just doing it on their own. On top of the charge for refills, the glasses they give you are half the size of any other place I have ever been.“

“Who doesn't love to support a small town bar? We did not try that food. But I think they have some Frozen pizza available to eat.. They do not have tapier but the bottles are about $4 a piece. The establishment is brand new, bathroom jerk and plenty of parking. The locals are friendly so why not give it a chance..“

“I recently stopped in at the Hideaway bar after moving to the area earlier this year. As a bar goes, it’s the kind of place where everybody knows everyone else. Don’t worry if you don’t know anyone, you will soon enough. They have great live music, and the drinks are reasonably priced. Their pizza is better than dominoes, or Pizza Hut, and far better than any bar pizza I’ve ever had. Actually, it’s one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. It’s a perfect fit for this little town.“

“I went to Job Sims house for a service call for his air conditioner not working. Jon immediately offered me breakfast as he is a cook at granite city. I politely declined and continued working. After I finished fixing his air conditioner Jon comes out with a plate of food saying it wasn’t in his nature to not give out food. I went back to the shop and ate the best homemade burrito I have ever had. Jon was not only one of the nicest people I have met but also one of the best cooks. You will not be disappointed going to granite city and receiving a meal made by Jon!“

“I am a frequent business traveler and stay in hotels between two and four nights a week. This Quality Inn is one of the nicest I stay in. Rooms are clean and quiet, staff is courteous and friendly and their pricing is usually spot on. Normally, if they're not full, they'll upgrade me as a Choice Hotels Diamond Member. All positives here and a 5 star experience.“

“This was the very first bar I came to when I moved to saint cloud. It wasn't my go to bar because it was out of my "jurisdiction". Vfw ended up becoming one of my favorite cornerstones. I ended up being in vfw's neighborhood. If your looking for friendly banter, with a Cheers tv show atmosphere. Come to vfw have a couple drinks and ask for juju. You will fall in love with the many patrons and older veterans who make vfw a very cool place.“

“My mom (4-5 years) and aunt (7+years) worked at original downtown HOP... it was so fun to visit the new location. I still remember the upstairs of the original as a kid (scary stairs 😉). Such fun memories... the cheese garlic bread was so good, I didn't even get a photo of it. The pizza costs more, but it is 👍. So glad to hear it is still in the family!“

“Stars should be more like 3-1/2 due to how long everything took. We came here just to eat. The dining area wasn't very full, but it took quite awhile to get water and menus. Then a very long time before our orders were taken. AND then a very long time to get our food. All the waiting took almost an hour and a half. The food was good but not good enough to justify the wait.“
