“So many good things. Banana pancakes, apple pancake, their cheddar cheese hash browns, their steak. One waitress Ashley, in particular, is wonderful. She was so friendly, very efficient, kept up with refilling my water and coffee (and I drink like a fish). She also has her regular customers, so yeah, she's a keeper. : )Parking: Free parking in a parking lot“

“My wife and I visited the original Original Pancake House in Edina to celebrate Valentines Day with her favorite meal (breakfast). A great choice because we avoided the crowds and the snow in the evening. We were not disappointed. I ordered the Northwoods Hashbrowns and was served a large plate of deliciously seasoned and browned grated potatoes topped with an eggs, sausage, bacon, and vegetable mixture. My wife ordered the Swedish pancakes with lingonberries. I won't elaborate except to say great food, good coffee, and delightful company. A perfect Valentines Day outing.“

“I have been going to The Original Pancake House for almost 20 years so have eaten there dozens of times. I have never had any food that I didn't like. Their pancakes taste homemade. I do wish they would bring back the sourdough pancakes as those were by far the best. Their 4 egg omelets are as big as a plate so I always have a take home box or sister, husband, or daughter split it with me. My favorite omelet is the veggie one because they use lots of veggies. Their hot chocolate is served with real whipped cream!! On the weekend, it is best to get there by 8:30 am or plan to wait at least an hour to get a table.Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly menuWheelchair accessibility: No steps so should be easy to access the restaurant.“

“This is a fun little neighborhood Cafe to get breakfast with a friend. I've been here a couple of times now and the food has been consistently fantastic. I really enjoy the homey atmosphere and the casual inclusion of everyone who might find their way to this lovely little spot.“

“Brave a little cold for this experience! We go there at about 8:30 and were first in line for Al's. One counter, 14 stools, and an amazing waitstaff. Nothing was wrong and the breakfast world rejoiced. We ordered scrambled eggs with smoked cheddar, a short stack blueberry buttermilk pancake, bacon, and their eggs benny. Readers, I don't have pictures because I was lost in the heavenly symphony of griddles, small diner banter, and tastebud euphoria. When I tell you that for a split second I wondered if I ordered incorrectly, I shall carry that shame with me, always. You can't go wrong. The classic Benny may have been served up with the most divine hollandaise sauce this yelper has EVER had. I didn't even mind the prying eyes behind me as people waited for our stools to become free.“

“Everything here is always excellent! The food, the service, the ambience. The manager regularly patrols the dining area to check in with patrons and make sure we are all happy as clams. And their salsa is so good I could just drink it!!!I recommend making a reservation as this place is always bustling. We last came here on a weekday holiday and the reservations were all open (except for ours), but the waiting area was super packed. We were seated right away of course. My favorite time to visit is when it's cold and dreary out, and the weather is getting to you (either early or late in the season). Bring family/friends and OPHMG will lift everyone's spirits. They have seasonal dishes and drinks during the holiday months, too.Seriously tho wish I could buy that salsa by the jar lol“

“I've been wanting to try this place since moving to Minnesota. Being from Michigan, this is about as close to a coney island as you can get, but Dutch style! I tried the famous Pannekoeken (Banana Cream aka my dream) and the pudding was delicious, the whipped cream was super high quality, and the bananas were ripe. I also got a side of hashbrowns which were your basic hashbrowns but exactly what I want for breakfast (really want to try the dutch oven potatoes next time). My partner got La Fiesta Skillet which was also fantastic! Super impressed by the ability to do both distinct cultures well (he got chorizo in his skillet as chorizo or chicken were the options). It came with you choice of a side and he got the cinnamon roll (MUST GET). We couldn't get a picture because it was gone so fast. Service is great, similar to other diners. The coffee is flowing and the drink refills were quick. The whole business seemed to do all jobs at once, so it was really efficient. Our waitress was always around and also seating people and running food. We had a great time here and will be coming again for an indulgent breakfast.“
