“Decided to revisit after two years and ended up visiting two days in a row because I couldn’t stop thinking about it.

The menu has clear markings for vegetarian and gluten free. As someone who is gf, I really appreciate the labelling and the large amount of options there are.

The pad thai is phenomenal and the portions are on the generous side—which I appreciate. The tofu triangles and sauce were additionally delicious. I can’t wait to go back and try other items.

My only ‘complaint’ is the spice levels, which is hard to gauge at every restaurant and very subjective. For reference, as a non-native Minnesotan I love spice. I’ve tried their Hot (3) and Very Hot (4) but was a little underwhelmed, so I’ll be getting the 5 next time. Just a heads up if you like spice!

The music selection is also on point. Whoever controls the aux has good taste.

“Myself and my fiancé are from Northern Minnesota and were there in July of last year. There were a couple of minor issues with our visit that day, but the food was delightful. Our server suggested that the manager may want to speak with me in regard to our experience, given the nature of the issues that occurred, so I left my business card and honestly forgot about it, as it wasn't that big of a deal to me. Some time later I received a letter at my office from the manager (I found out later that she's actually the owner.) She sent me a check to refund the cost of our meal, along with a very nice note of explanation and apology. The refund was way above and beyond what was necessary or expected. She took full responsibility for the issues that we had experienced at her establishment that day in July. She also asked for another opportunity to serve us the next time that we were in the area. This was a very classy (but unexpected) response to what I would consider to be something that wasn't that big of a deal to me, but it clearly was to her. Given the high standards that she clearly demonstrated for her establishment, there was no doubt that I would honor her request for a second opportunity. This last Saturday we were finally in town again and were able to visit the Basil Café for a second time. We had an absolutely delightful experience in every regard! After our meal, I asked the pleasant young lady that was checking on us if the manager happened to be in on a Saturday. Well, that turned out to be her! Her name is Tiffany, and she is the owner of the Basil Café. I introduced myself to her and she not only remembered the letter that she had sent and the small issues that occurred on our previous visit, but she also remembered my full name from memory!!! We had a very nice conversation and she sent us home with some extra spring rolls that we enjoyed at home later that evening. Tiffany, I also run a business, and the way that you treated us and handled that situation is an impressive lesson in customer service and leadership. You didn't just recover us as customers, you created 2 raving fans of your business through your actions and demeanor along with your wonderful cuisine. You easily could have brushed off the initial experience that we had last year. And, while we weren't upset about it, we likely wouldn't have thought to ever return to your establishment if you had. Instead, you held yourself and your wonderful restaurant to a higher standard, and you made 2 raving fans that will return again and again and will recommend your establishment at every opportunity. Tiffany, thank you for a wonderful dining experience and thank you for a refreshing attitude and demonstration of personal responsibility that you so impressively gave. “I stopped in for the Thai tea and was pleasantly surprised by how good everything was! The tea was delicious, but the real stars were my husband’s curry and the fried rice—packed with flavor and perfectly balanced. If you’re planning to visit, I definitely recommend it. They offer spice levels from 1–5; a 2 is perfect if you like just a little heat without it being overwhelming.“

Very responsive as I texted prior to actually visiting the location to make sure I went to right location. Ordered the shrimp fried rice with 1/2 teaspoon of spice and it was fiya! Right amount of heat, flavor filled and shrimp cooked with the right texture. I ordered the imitation crab wontons, the presentation of these was beautiful. The imitation crab can be a hit or miss for people who like it. Sometimes the warm imitation crab is not as great as the cold imitation crab. I will be brave next time and try the fish meatball wontons. I inquired about the fish and it redfish Bree. Never heard of it so was scared but maybe next time. Definitely will return. Great food. We did take-out and took them about 30-40 mins to get our food ready.Customer service - my husband went in to order and he felt the service was not the greatest, but it is what it is.I am always searching for the best drunken noodles or better known as Pad Kee Mao. When I saw that Ban Thai make Pad Kee Mao, I had to give them a try. So far it’s good. The flavor is different from others that I’ve had. Their seasonings is their own. But I enjoyed it. This was by far one of my favorite Thai orders in many years - we had the khao soi curry, red curry fried rice, pad Thai along with a couple apps and were floored with how amazing everything was. “The location of Kindee is perfect for so many who want to see a show at the Guthrie, especially if you need to eat gluten-free! They have so many options on their menu for Gluten-friendly, and everything was delicious! I enjoyed a small teapot of jasmine tea with my mee gati and my husband enjoyed the massaman. My dish was loaded with tasty ingredients on a pool of broth. The broth had just the right amount of spicy kick to bring the flavors to life without overpowering my palate. The massaman was also a touch spicy, but with an interesting sweetness like brown sugar inside! I think we need to keep showing this little restaurant some love because we will definitely come back!“

“We stopped by on a Monday evening so not a real busy time so dining room was pretty empty. Had coconut shrimp appetizer which was good but slightly over cooked. Family had a curry dish that was great, shrimp/scallop noodle dish that was also great and drunken shrimp that was so so with way overcooked shrimp. Very good service and a robot that delivers the food. Will have to try a hotter spice level next time as medium is pretty weak.“
