“I went to Job Sims house for a service call for his air conditioner not working. Jon immediately offered me breakfast as he is a cook at granite city. I politely declined and continued working. After I finished fixing his air conditioner Jon comes out with a plate of food saying it wasn’t in his nature to not give out food. I went back to the shop and ate the best homemade burrito I have ever had. Jon was not only one of the nicest people I have met but also one of the best cooks. You will not be disappointed going to granite city and receiving a meal made by Jon!“

Rooms are clean and quiet, staff is courteous and friendly and their pricing is usually spot on. Normally, if they're not full, they'll upgrade me as a Choice Hotels Diamond Member. “This was the very first bar I came to when I moved to saint cloud. It wasn't my go to bar because it was out of my "jurisdiction". Vfw ended up becoming one of my favorite cornerstones. I ended up being in vfw's neighborhood. If your looking for friendly banter, with a Cheers tv show atmosphere. Come to vfw have a couple drinks and ask for juju. You will fall in love with the many patrons and older veterans who make vfw a very cool place.“

“My mom (4-5 years) and aunt (7+years) worked at original downtown HOP... it was so fun to visit the new location. I still remember the upstairs of the original as a kid (scary stairs 😉). Such fun memories... the cheese garlic bread was so good, I didn't even get a photo of it. The pizza costs more, but it is 👍. So glad to hear it is still in the family!“

While I’m a bit older and don't frequent it often, I never miss a chance to go when my younger friends want to hit the dance floor. It’s a lively place, perfect for shaking off the stress and having a great time. Like any good college bar, there’s the occasional scuffle, but I’ve never felt unsafe—it's mostly between people who know each other. The atmosphere is fun, the staff are courteous, and the drink prices are very reasonable. It’s always a good time!“

The Chef is a Master at his craft in all cuisines !
