He has a son that has a gluten and dairy allergy and his one request for his birthday this year was a key lime pie that he could share with his son. That was not an easy task to locate. Even though it is not something they offer on their menu, Mud Pie Bakery was willing to do a special order for a gluten free, dairy free key lime pie and I must say, we were blown away! It was delicious! The crust was delicious, the filling was tangy, and the whipped topping was sweet and balanced everything else out! Not only that, but it looked beautiful! “Two years ago in October, my daughter had to go to a company in Overland Park for a course. We are from the Netherlands and have eaten a pie at the Upper Crust several times. Our favorite was the caramelized pecan apple pie. I still tell everyone who will listen about it. I would really love to have the recipe. “We hosted my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary celebration at Be Free Family Farm last Saturday, and I couldn’t recommend the venue highly enough. It was perfect. One of the best things about the space is how adaptable it is. I’d been to a high school grad party there before, and I can’t think of anything further from a 50th anniversary than that! Be Free fit both perfectly. We had around 100 people total, with about 60–70 at the peak, and it was a little crowded but in an energetic way if that makes sense. It was mid-July and pretty hot outside, but the indoor space stayed cool the whole time. I’d love to host something there in the fall with the garage doors open. I’m sure that’s the perfect balance. Carl, Jennifer, and Scott were fantastic. They helped with setup, made sure we had everything we needed (including things we didn’t think of until we got there). Carl was quick to offer a ride for guests from the parking lot since we were dealing with mostly older guests. Scott and Jennifer helped welcome people inside and out, literally opening doors and showing people around. The sound system was great. They helped me get it going, and now I obviously want a Sonos setup at home 💀💰💵 Shout out to Apple Music for the ‘1975 pop rock’ playlist that was an easy option for a 50th anniversary. We catered food from Zarda BBQ in Blue Springs. I picked it up myself and ordered for 60, but we ended up with more than enough. Be Free had some catering equipment that we used. Here’s a text I got from my mom, 1/2 of the guests of honor: “Everyone said it was a great party and it truly was. Perfect place, perfect food. “I came to Morgana’s from Illinois, just outside St. Louis, MO. As a person living with Celiac disease this place seriously changed my life. We have NOTHING like this anywhere near me. I haven’t eaten out, let alone baked goods, since being diagnosed. I have been thinking about the croissants since my last bite. I also learned of a gluten free expo in the area from a flyer that I’ll be returning to the area for. Friendly atmosphere, adorable shop, incredible food.“

Adorable and delicious cakes in 3 different sizes. Mini bites, a personal cake and then a bigger one to share. Many flavors to choose from. I had raspberry lemon and it was divine. Their frosting must be a secret recipe because it's lovely!

Service could be improved by explaining flavors or offering samples. Just making customers feel more welcome and allowing them to understand the products and story could go a long way in customer experience.“

“Everyone who works here is friendly and helpful. Great pastries, delicious food and drinks. However our most recent visit we were given peanut butter cake pops. They weren't labeled at all. My daughter with a peanut allergy realized it after 1 bite thank goodness and with some Benadryl she's fine. I called after to confirm flavor and was told flavors rotate and to always ask what they were. They're not obligated to label peanut products but it would be nice if they did since it's a high allergen food :( They didn't even ask if she was ok. If you have allergies I would make sure to always ask and double check here.“

“Not only is this the best espresso in KC, thus is the best espresso I've ever had, full stop. I spent 2 years in the PNW, 5 years in California and 2 years in DC. Parisi blows every espresso I've tried out of the water. We now live in Texas and have it shipped to us every 2 weeks. It is the benchmark I use when trying a new coffee shop. If there's a better espresso out there, I haven't tried it.

“We recently hired Daylight Donuts to cater the Senior Picnic for our school, and they absolutely knocked it out of the park! Seiji, the owner, was responsive, professional, and incredibly easy to work with from start to finish. He even gave us a discount on our order, which was such a thoughtful gesture.

The donuts were ready right on time, beautifully presented, and best of all… still hot when we set them out for the students 🍩✨ They were fresh, delicious, and a huge hit with everyone at the event.

“The girl at the front desk was so kind and helpful with our order and purchase. If they don’t have many donuts in the cases don’t worry you can still request them to make more. They were very accommodating. The mochi donuts are so yummy we got cookies and cream, strawberry funnel cake, red velvet, and Nutella. They were all extremely delicious lots of flavor. My bf got the strawberry boba tea I usually don’t care for boba tea, but this was amazing and the sweetness of the donuts didn’t make the tea taste weird. Great product and excellent meat selection.

The shelves were well stocked, date rotated where I examined. The shelf and stock I check was also clean.

No interaction with staff expect checkout which was fast and friendly.

The only minus in this otherwise 5 star review is the lack of bread in the bread aisle.

“First time trying Royal Gyro, I was helped right away- I ordered the beef and lamb rice platter and waited for my meal. There is a wait time but that’s because all the food is made to order and you can definitely taste the fresh flavors and care that is put into the food. Will definitely come by to try more items!“
