My first time ever at Golden Ox. Steak was great and cooked as ordered. Sausage stuffed mushrooms were fantastic. Got a side of mashed potatoes, but received a hint to order as loaded because it’s not a menu item. Holy cow. The creamed spinach was alright, but I’d probably choose something else the next time I’m there. Overall, a great experience and birthday dinner.
It is an historic landmark of Kansas City.
Wednesday night, low volume of customers and we loved it. Arrived early, ordered some drinks from the bar and were seated before our reservation time. Everyone was so nice and we loved the classic supper club atmosphere. Oysters Rockefeller for an appetizer were amazing! Highly recommend. Strip steak (ordered rare) and lobster mac'n cheese, side of asparagus, were great. Tenderloin filet (ordered rare) and creamed spinach, also great.
