I came, I made a request for a song for karaoke night at Missie B's in Kansas City, Missouri, it's a gay bar. I waited almost two hours. I was invisible. At the end of the night I asked her to take my name off the list. My Uber arrived. The karaoke DJ sang three times after I made my request. I was the only Latino who asked to sing at an otherwise empty bar. Latinos are invisible in Kansas City, I guess. But being shamed by a fellow black person was too much. Not safe for Trans Men or Drag Kings
THIS IS NOT A SAFE PLACE! The workers, management, and owners are rude and uncaring. The doorman has sexual assaulted me twice while he was working the door. Presumably using his authority to inappropriately touch patrons without consent. Unfortunately, this worker still works in the same role today. I do not feel safe when he is around.
