But when it came to the food. Whew my feelings were hurt the brisket was flavorless and dry 😭 Nothing like what I saw in the review. Ribs were tender but i was not blown away by them, sides were the same as well. Maybe it was bad Timing but this was a big let down. Consistency is the key to a good restaurant. I will give them another chance, but I'm not in a rush to get there. I was wanting so much for this place to blow me away because I love food. And I was so excited to try them. 🥺“

“We were in town (from the Twin Cities) for the 2025 President's Day Classic, and had Hogtown Smokehouse cater a team (and parents) dinner for 30 in our hotel. Rico was fantastic in helping us out. Quick to respond to calls and emails. Gracious, and just wonderful altogether... and that's just the service. The food? The empty pans, told the story. Brisket, Turkey and Pork for meats. Mac & cheese, potato salad and beans for sides. EVERYTHING was amazing! I never right reviews, but Rico and staff deserve this one. If you're reading this, don't hesitate to give them a try. "Stan, Matt & Marlowe were charming and cordial to all. The owner (Matt/Chef) is one of the nicest and most hospitable folks you'll ever want to meet. Truly cares about his customers. Stay clear of Bill... Why you ask? He was a smug, rude & a disingenuous individual. Brought in six (6) people & spent over $300.00 with no other customers dining that day. He acted like he did us a favor. All of the other employees were wonderful.“

“The place is very unassuming on the corner. Went in and there was a half dozen of folks waiting and in line. Each order cam out and eyes lit up. My first time was great. A heavy plate of good rib tips, soft bread and great flavor and seasoning abound. We will be back. Sometimes you just want good food without all the DAMN tourist from all the famous spots we all know in STL.“

“Our first visit tonight, it won't be our last. My wife had the shrimp platter with fried pickles and onion rings. I had the Big Beef Daddy burger with jalapeño mac n cheese bites. The room was packed when we arrived (7pm on a Saturday) and we only had to wait 10 minutes. Everything about the place, the food, service, atmosphere (including live band) was exceptional. Big portions, great flavors. Can't wait to come back and work my way through the menu. This big fat guy is happily bringing half my dinner home for tomorrow's lunch.“

“So, I went to this really cool restaurant, and it was huge! The vibes were great, and they had both indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered the 2-meat combo plate with brisket and ribs, two sides, and a drink for only $25. It was a great deal! I wanted to get dessert, but a slice of pie was $5, which was a bit too much for me. The ribs were amazing, but the brisket was a little dry. I did arrive an hour before they closed, so that might have had something to do with it. Overall, it was a great place to eat. I would suggest they have more drink options, but the sugary soda was still good.“
