“I have eaten here over 30 times and I honestly don’t know why people are giving them such low ratings. We don’t live close by and stumbled across it while deciding to try Charlie Gittos. When we walked in, the steakhouse bar was all decorated for Christmas and my wife said we have to eat here; it’s so beautiful. So we ordered the pepperloin, a 6 ox filet with peppercorn. The server recommended the Mac and cheese and it was to die for. The bread was very good that they brought out better our meal and Samson is the nicest and best waiter ever. It was $30 for the steak and one side; where can you beat that? Note the price is now $35 as of January 2026. We don’t even gamble here but often make the drive because the food is so good and Samson is the best.“

“We were in town (from the Twin Cities) for the 2025 President's Day Classic, and had Hogtown Smokehouse cater a team (and parents) dinner for 30 in our hotel. Rico was fantastic in helping us out. Quick to respond to calls and emails. Gracious, and just wonderful altogether... and that's just the service. The food? The empty pans, told the story. Brisket, Turkey and Pork for meats. Mac & cheese, potato salad and beans for sides. EVERYTHING was amazing! I never right reviews, but Rico and staff deserve this one. If you're reading this, don't hesitate to give them a try. Thanks again, Rico!“
