“Got the taste of Kansas City and it was really good. In that platter comes pulled pork, half a chicken, brisket, and beef ribs. The brisket was disappointing but the rest of it was amazing. The sides we got was cheesy corn, potato salad, and beans. The potato salad was not good at all, the rest was really good. Ordered a side of sausage medallions and burt ends. Both were a bit disappointing with the burt ends being just ok. I also ordered a grill cheese kids meal with fries. The fries were good, the grill cheese was good. The grilled cheese is just American cheese and white bread so perfect for kids. The BBQ sauce was really good. I will definitely be ordering from them again just not certain things like the potato salad.”

“All I can say is WOW! My husband & I went here for the first time last Friday and from the moment we stepped it we had the best dining experience we’ve ever had in the Kansas City area. Our server was Kortney and she was nothing short of AMAZING. She was attentive and made sure we were happy with our experience. Our drinks were always refilled at the halfway point, she checked on us at all of the perfect times and it was clear she was on top of it! She was friendly, attentive, & provided some seriously top-notch service. We ordered the crap dip to start and oh my goodness it was so delicious we were tempted to order another or. The dip was overflowing the bowl and everything was so FRESH. My husband ordered the pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon and he said it was literally melting in his mouth. I ordered the roots burger and was impressed that someone could take a cheeseburger & make it THAT GOOD. We will absolutely be back! From the atmosphere to the service to the food - EVERY single aspect exceeded our expectations. We cannot recommend this place enough!”

“Walked into Cooper’s Hawk for the first time not really knowing what to expect, and I’m glad I did. I love sweet wines, so finding something that actually matches my taste can be hit or miss, but the Spritzy Sangria Strawberry Rhubarb was incredible. Sweet, refreshing, lightly sparkling, and just easy to enjoy from the first sip.

Big shoutout to Alec B. for being awesome. He took the time to let me do a wine tasting, listened to what I liked, and pointed me toward the perfect bottle. Super cool guy, very knowledgeable, and made the whole experience welcoming and fun instead of overwhelming.

If you’re into sweeter wines and aren’t sure what to try, this is definitely worth checking out. Thanks again, Alec—I found a new favorite! 🍷”

“AMAZING! I'm an east-coast guy living in the Midwest who's been looking for a great place for fresh seafood (sorry Red Lobster) for over 6 years. This diamond in the rough exceeded my expectations. While the majority of the US can't even find a place that serves King Crab (due to supply and demand escalated cost), I found a place that not only has it but has it at a very reasonable price. I had 1/2 lb King Crab, 1/2 lb Snow Crab, and 1/2 lb of shrimp. We must have been there for over an hour while I picked out every piece of crab meat. The way the dish came out was neat (I won't ruin the surprise). I also highly recommend the sweet potato fries. I would give this place a 6 out of 5 stars!”

“I’ve tried most of the local Chinese restaurants and Aikou is hands down the best. They are the only local restaurant that doesn’t serve sweet Crab Rangoon. I wish they were open 7 days week so I wouldn’t have to eat at the other ones that never follow my instructions for my food prep. My food is always done to perfection here.”

Well i ordered the 3 meat 3 side platter, got the burnt ends, brisket and ribs with beans, slaw and jazzy fries. Only thing I didnt really like was the slaw but everything else hands down was AMAZING!!!! The burnt ends just melt in your mouth, that jazzy sauce is addictive and they have a really good honey mustard as well. Also got the friend mushrooms, they use portobello mushrooms and they are a 10 out of 10 with the in house made ranch...... I will be going back, and it has me wanting this place over Jack stack and I grew up on Jack stack.”

It just hits every time. The sides are just as good as the meat, which says a lot because most places treat sides like an afterthought. Not here. Everything on the plate is solid. I also love the old school Filling Station vibe. The location is great and the whole place has a cool, laid-back feel that makes you want to hang out. The owners are professional and genuinely good people, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. You can tell they care about what they’re doing.”

“We love coming to Shakin’. It is definitely a hidden gem. Sadly, tonight was a let down. We got here and there were several seats at the bar that we were told were supposedly “taken”. A large group came in and were told to take the seats. They were served quickly. We waited 15-20 minutes to even be acknowledged by the bar staff. Would have been nice to at least been welcomed and told be with you shortly. When the bartender finally made eye contact and came over, his excuse was “sorry, there’s only two of us!” We’ve been here when the place was packed and never experienced this service. We literally almost walked out. Miss the “old” bartenders who were attentive and quick to take care of customers.”

My medium pizza was half off. So spent under $10 a person. After tax, delivery charge of $7.99 plus tip it cas over $21. So pizza 50% off was offset by delivery, tip and there was a service fee random. But the pizza was very good.”

“I like a few of their brews, and I honestly do love that they are featuring other breweries around town on their own taps. You don't see that very often.

My favorite is the coffee stout (Madame X) and the Bearded Lady.

The service is usually very personable and inviting, and of course, I visit because it's a great place to relax and have beer while playing pinball. All their machines are tuned well and play great! I'll definitely be back.

The machines here are always in great shape and I'm always loving how much community is also present here. You should honestly come play if you like pinball.”

My daughter with a peanut allergy realized it after 1 bite thank goodness and with some Benadryl she's fine. I called after to confirm flavor and was told flavors rotate and to always ask what they were. They're not obligated to label peanut products but it would be nice if they did since it's a high allergen food :( They didn't even ask if she was ok. If you have allergies I would make sure to always ask and double check here.”

Very quick friendly service. I went back today for taco Tuesday, served by Luis, who did a great job. I was greeted both times by the owner who was welcoming. I recommend this restaurant and will return soon.”

The best hot and sour soup I ever tasted. I had the Shrimp and Vegetable in brown sauce. I live 20 minutes from this place. Trust me it's worth the drive. Once a week I will be there.”

She made us feel right at home and my friend and I both went with her recommendations- a gluten free pizza for me and a regular pizza for her and accompanying desserts- all were delicious. I’m recently gluten free and I was excited to see they have an entire GF menu, with vegan options as well. I brought a pizza home for my husband (non GF) and he enjoyed his pizza very much. Mini wraps with chicken in three flavors: Cabo, Thai, and Teriyaki.
Small portions, but packed with flavor.
I asked for wasabi mayo on the side — highly recommend.

Good flavor, especially with the Thai chili sauce, but not my top pick compared to their other wraps.
We ordered online for pick up. It was ready in 10 mins. However, the interior is very cute and full of stickers! Great vibes.

I've also tried the mega bacon smash with an egg but take the veggies off and I've tried their hasbrown casserole all the way they call it but put sausage gravy on it. The medium smoothies were much larger than I expected (a good thing), and thought the smoothies were better than the other franchise store in town. Also, got an energy drink that I haven’t seen anywhere else in town that was healthier than most and contained alpha GPC for focus. Highly recommend this place.”

“I will forever be grateful for the bartender that was on duty Saturday night, January 13th. My sister arrived via Amtrak, but because of the snow and extremely cold subzero temperatures was not able to get a cab. She was able to stay warm inside the bar until a family member picked her up. They always repeat my order back, my drink is consistent and delicious, they remember my military discount every time and the team seems to mesh really well and the vibes are always good. Even when the line is long, wait time is only a couple minutes. The tight drive thru was renovated a couple years ago and it’s much easier to navigate now.”

“My favorite Taco via is actually in the Kansas City area over at 95 and Antioch although I like this one in Lee's Summit. Lee's Summit location is owned by different people and they don't put onion sauce on their combo burritos and the flat nachos that look like little tostados with cheese add hot peppers are a little different because they just put slices on theirs and the one over at 95th and Antioch chpps theirs into reality fine pieces. It's all a bit more open at the Antioch location and the Lee's Summit location still has plexiglass between you and the people taking your order like they need during covid and it's always freezing in there like no other. Don't get me wrong we go to Lee's Summit location when it's convenient but I come to Kansas City a lot from Warsaw and I'm doctoring at a lot of KU locations which are closer to the one that I've always liked the most since the beginning of time back when I was in high school! Back in the seventies! LOL”

“The sandwiches were great, but I wanted to leave this review specifically about the cashier. I wish I had gotten his name, but he absolutely made my and my kids’ day. We came in to grab lunch on Saturday 2/7 and my young kids were both visibly sad and not having a great day. The cashier noticed this, paid for two cookies using his own money, and gave them to us. It was a small gesture but it meant the world to us and was one of those “restoring faith in humanity” moments. I could have cried just because of two cookies. It was an excellent opportunity to talk to my kids about paying it forward as well. Thank you, kind cashier!!”

They take $1 coins and the only way to get the $1 coins is from the coin machine that accepts bills & card payments. It is a bit confusing at first and I'm not sure why the operate it this way but once you get it down, this is good place and has a nice atmosphere. The draft beer is good and priced well.”

“I actually called this store on accident to submit feedback about the fries and not getting the drink that came with the order. The GM Jason was very professional, took his time to get clarification of all of the details, and provided great customer service. It didn't feel like I was just another customer calling to complain.

Fortunately, we found out it was the Woods Chapel Wingstop in Lee's Summit Wingstop that made the errors.

Though I've never been to this Wingstop, I can tell he has good management skills and will more than likely run onto how he runs the place. Thanks Jason!”

“This location has awesome customer service. My family had tried to dine in on the app and when scanning the QR code at the other location it failed to change to the one we were at. We called and headed over and they made sure we got taken care of and were friendly and understanding.

I wish the QR codes could change location based on what store it was scanned in. But it was our mistake not to check.”
