“We LOVE Mama, the owner. The food is ALWAYS freshly homemade and steaming with crunchy vegetables that aren't overcooked. We always ask for extra sauce and medium spice to nake our noses run but give us nice heat and flavor. The Crab Rangoon, Thai Tea, Drunken Noodle, Red Curry, Mixed Vegetables, Kao Soi, and Thai Coffee are some of our favorites along with ALWAYS getting Tom Yum Soup with Chicken!“

“We just finished eating here and the food was absolutely terrific! With the convention going on it took a little longer then expected to get our food but it was fresh, hot and 100% worth the wait. 10/10 would recommend to anyone that likes Thai! I had the Drunken Noodles and my wife had the Pad Thai.“

“We love testing local takeout spots and this one hit. Started with fried shrimp, then went for shrimp and veggie stir fry. Simple, satisfying, and exactly what you want from a local take out place. I hope you’re shopping small and local. Cancel the chains.“

“First time here and the service, food, cleanliness, pricing, location were all excellent! Celebrated a grandson's b'day and it was perfect! I love that they give you an option for spiciness (0-5) since I'm a 0 and opted for Orange Chicken. I'll be more adventuresome next time. LOL Great restaurant all the way around!“

“I’ve taken out and eaten in. Both times have been phenomenal. Khao soi and pad see ew are the way to go. Khao soi is my absolute favorite, this is the best one I’ve found in stl (second favorite fork & stix).
Love supporting local, would absolutely recommend checking out!“

“We went at 12 pm. Best pad see ew i have been able to find in STL yet. I had some in California that i fell inlove with that i haven’t found a place as good as this. It was not busy at all and they do close at 2. They were quick and Mai Tai was also yummy. I have seen bigger portions but i prefer it to be this portion and taste the way it did then bigger portions and not as good.“

“This is the best Thai restaurant I've been to so far out of the 43 I've tried! The Tom yum soup here is the best anywhere, especially the Tom Yum Pla hotpot. They also have really good curry, with their yellow curry being among the best.“

“I had a bunch of other things on my mind when I stopped in with the wife for lunch. Consequently, my photo game is weak on this one. This may be more of a 3.5 than a 4-star but I'll round up based on service.
Chicken satay was a miss.
L1 (can't believe I didn't get a pic) for lunch. The dish was the lunch portion of pad ga paow. It's on the menu as a spicy dish. I was asked how spicy and said 'medium plus a little' and loved the amount of heat.
Tofu didn't overpower the dish and I appreciated the smaller bite size. Carrots brought some sweetness to the dish. Green peppers were most left on the plate. Green beans added a little crunch. White rice cut the heat a little and the dish came together in a great way. I walked in looking for something I haven't tried and this dish answered the mail. Really good!
The sauce was the boss!
They ran out of lemons for the drinking water and solved that with a little container of lemon juice.“

“It’s truly heartbreaking to see all of the people leaving negative reviews for this restaurant. The owners are kind hearted and hardworking people who have been contributing to St. Louis’ diverse restaurant scene for years- it’s important for hole in the wall family owned restaurants like Yan Wu to exist and continue adding to the social and cultural fabric of the city, as more and more go out of business or are replaced by characterless chains. Please take a second to try and examine why you are so quick to judge a minority owned business and label the owners as “rude” due to communication barriers or assume they are talking about you when they speak in their native language rather than impulsively attempt to put another local restaurant out of business.“

“Four of us had delicious meals. The service was excellent. Very friendly. Super cute and clean inside. Back to that food…. Sooo good! We all loved it. My husband had black pepper beef , two of my kids had chicken pad Thai , and I had the nam tok beef. The portions were generous too. We will be back for sure! Definitely recommend this place!“
