“I’m I huge St. Louis style pizza fan. Pizzeoli just made me a bigger fan of wood fire pizza. So far this is my favorite pizza place in St. Louis. I’ve had wood fire pizza from other places but this place takes the cake. The margarita pizza was chefs kiss. And the mushroom sausage pizza was to die for. 10/10 easily! “we were looking for a place to have lunch and happened to find this restaurant. we parked and the first thing we noticed was the smell of the pizza. we ordered a half and half pizza. on one side was a taco pizza. it is the best we have ever had. “I have had a lot of food from Loafers over the past few years but never had enough information to write a review! They serve a more cafe-style menu during lunch, offering amazing soups, sandwiches and salads. I have eaten lunch at Loafers many times and loved every experience. During dinner service, they serve their amazing pizzas, which I only got to experience for the first time recently. We went with another couple and ended up getting their spinach pizza and their seasonal pizza, which had far too many elements to name. Both pizzas were amazing. The service was great, though they did seem to want to turn the table quickly, understandably, as they are quite busy constantly. Highly recommend this space, as it is not unreasonable prices for the quality and quantity of food and service you receive.“

I spoke with Janelle a few times and she listened to everything I had to say. I was concerned about people traveling from all over and not having a precise headcount. We opted for a reservation in the main dining area and Janelle, Simon and the entire staff exceeded every expectation I could have had. They helped move tables around as more people showed up, they gave great food recommendations and were overall just very helpful and personable. They even treated our group to complimentary tiramisu and ricotta donuts. The mascarpone crema was incredible. I don’t know when we will be back in St. Louis but Katie’s is already on the agenda! Thank you again for such a wonderful experience!“

“The Chicago deep dish was recommended to me, so I ordered for take out. It was SO delicious that I ordered it again the next night along with some extras and everything was perfection. “I've heard Blackthorn was the place to go in St. Louis for deep dish pizza. I was not misled! I went for dinner with my cousin and his wife. We got a 16" deep dish with pepperoni, sausage, and green peppers. It was phenomenal! The cheese pull on this thing was ridiculous, so cheesy! Two pieces ko'd me. The crust was perfect! Crispy on the bottom and soft and fluffy directly under the toppings. Perfect for a fork and knife. I'm a huge fan of deep dish pizza, and this will be my go to from now on! Highly recommend!“

“Took my daughter for an impromptu birthday celebration and let me just tell you, not only were the employees helpful in determining whether to rent a lane or pay by the game, the other patrons were happy to give our bowling challenged group pointers. The atmosphere was fantastic. There were swing dance lessons going on in the bar. The playlist was great and we ordered pizza that was better than any bowling alley food I have ever had. We put our order in later than we should've but the staff was kind about it and didn't rush us out the door when it arrived and they were ready to leave, I am sure. We had a great time and will do it again.“

“Possibly the best bowling alley food I've ever had, as well as being very good pizza overall. I had the #2 special, which is basically a supreme without the black olives and sausage. It was very good. My buddy ordered the Southwest Chicken and it was the better of the two. Both pizzas had a ton of toppings. The lady working the register was pleasant and professional. It was pretty slow in the bowling alley when we went, so there was no real delay in getting our food.“

“I was host to approximately 30 to 35 professional people for an evening. The food was unbelievably delicious; and Taylor attended to us flawlessly. She never missed a beat and got it all right. The atmosphere was great in spite of it being a memorial service. There was a second table almost as large as ours, and there was plenty of room to spare. I had shopped around a few places; none of them seemed compatible for my needs. Mitch was the mgr., and he was great as well. He had asked several times how everything was. “We ordered two cauliflower crust, all-vegetable pizzas to-go yesterday afternoon. While the pizzas were prepared very nicely (in terms of topping layout and quantity) by an employee, the pizzas were both burned to different degrees - one quite a bit and the other partially. This situation required us to return to Mod Pizza when we opened the pizza boxes at a nearby park. **We want to thank Charlie, Manager at Mod Pizza-Kirkwood, for his courtesy and professionalism yesterday in resolving our concerns.** Charlie and the employee who helped us earlier today made things right for us, and we feel much better about returning to this particular Mod Pizza in the future! We also want to give our great thanks to Mod Pizza-Kirkwood employee Ethan who was outstanding—very conscientious, warm, and professional—during a previous visit to this location.

We very much appreciate Mod’s rich assortment of vegetables and the non-white flour option (i.e., the cauliflower crust).

A few requests for Mod Pizza as a company:

1.) Please train your Staff to consistently uphold standards of courtesy and professionalism. Some are excellent (courteous and thorough) and others are not particularly friendly and don't seem especially motivated to make sure that the food is well-prepared from start to finish.

2.) Please cut your broccoli much larger. For the pizzas prepared for us today, the broccoli was almost completely burned, and inedible. Our experience (in pizza-making at home) is that if the broccoli pieces are large, they won’t get burned.

3.) Please put the raw garlic on your pizza after the pizza is taken from the oven; if the garlic is cooked with the pizza, it comes out charred.

4.) In regard to dietary restrictions:

a.) Please find a way to make your cauliflower crust vegan. We had been advised by another Mod Pizza location that the cauliflower crust is vegan, but it turns out that that other location apparently gave us the incorrect information!

b.) Please offer a vegan, whole-wheat crust option.

Along with Charlie Downs and Dave Molina, the team behind Sugarfire Smokehouse and Hi-Pointe Drive-In has really nailed it again with this spot. “Impromptu date night away from the kids lead us to this place! We arrived at peak dinner time- 7:30- and shockingly there was no wait! I can’t imagine this will last for long, because the service is fabulous, and the food is delicious! We have really enjoyed the other restaurants by these guys- and Press does not disappoint! I loved the Lavender cocktail, Husb enjoyed the sweet take on the old fashioned. I also had the beet salad to start- but ate it too fast to get a photo! The smash pizzas have a delicate combination of flavors, are easy to eat and heat up the next day to continue the culinary enjoyment!“

“My friend and I have visited twice. The menu changed from the first visit, and while it was great the first time, the apps on the current menu are really fun and tasty.

Both times, it was really hard to decide what to order because all the food sounded so good based on descriptions. Staff was kind, helpful and patient, even allowing tastes of wine to decide which bottle to get.

The pizzas are amazing - a specialty no doubt. Light crust and tasty variety.

Plenty of vegetarian and pescatarian options.

The elevated side patio is a great option. Cozy but not awkward, with just the right volume of music and spacing between tables.
