“Went to Barbacoa, 5500 Troost, for brunch Sunday morning, what a delightful experience. I ordered Monie’s plate. It was mouthwatering. The serving was so generous, that I took half of it home. The corn tortillas were soft and warm enough to make a taco, the beans were flavorful and not spicy, the carnitas were fall apart tender and very tasty, perfectly fried potatoes, and fluffy scrambled eggs. The salsa was very tasty and not overly spicy. The coffee was even tasty (Costco Kirkland medium roast). Unlike some breakfast restaurants, the background music was so low and mellow (helps with digestion), I could hear my friends talk. We have to go back during the week for dinner. UPDATE - I forgot one very important thing, the service was excellent. Our group was one of two in the restaurant, but shortly afterwards other start to arrive. There was only one friendly waitress, who, despite the growing crowd, was able to get back to us about more coffee and to check on us“

“We recently celebrated our anniversary here. We started with prosciutto wrapped mozzarella. It was delicious. For dinner i had the sea bass. It was the best seafood I’ve ever had at a restaurant. My husband had a bone in ribeye.It was very tender and cooked perfectly. The sides perfectly complemented our meal. Thy served us a beautiful dessert for our anniversary. All the food was perfectly prepared. The table was beautifully decorated for our anniversary. Our server Fred was very attentive and friendly. “LOVE El Maguey (formerly Mexico Lindo) as our #1 go-to restaurant for 25+ years. Flavors are YUMMY across any of the many menu items. Favorite? Burrito Banderas: Super delicious with beef tips, chicken, and pork topped with cheese dip, red and green sauce. It's so huge, it can be shared!
