“Moved to Raytown last year and we've tried the various Chinese food places at least three times each. Today, we ordered Ma Ma China carry out as they don't do dine-in or drive thru. The food was ready when they said it would be. We ordered twice cooked pork, General Tso's chicken, beef with green peppers, shrimp with broccoli, chicken with cashew nuts, spring rolls, large hot and sour soup, crab rangoon, steamed dumplings, combo fried rice, and chicken fried rice (no carrots or peas). Order was accurate, everything was fresh, very warm to hot, and delicious. The lady at point of sale was nice and polite. We'll be visiting this place again. Took pics while still in the container, nice and packed. My kids took the dumplings and chicken fried rice before I could get pics. Lots of steamed rice in separate containers! Thanks for being open on a Sunday!“

“Tonight, 9/6/2025, at 8:40PM. I picked up my doordash that I ordered, but with my negligence in selecting the food, I was not aware that Panda served HOT Orange Chicken. So I went home and discovered the chicken looked different, so then I checked the receipt and it says HOT Orange Chicken. I even double checked on my Doordash and alas, I selected it without actually paying attention. I drove back to explain and woman I spoke to was very understanding, I asked if it was possible to switch the HOT ones for the Original Orange chicken, since I can't eat spicy food. Her and her manager both agreed offered to redo the plate and even cooked the Original Orange chicken because they ran out. They then handed me over the new plate and was very pleasant. I just want to thank the night crew for their awesome service and I apologize for being a nuisance. You guy's were awesome!“

“I don't live in Independence anymore, but even from the West Coast where Asian cuisine is supposed to be top notch, I still think about Golden Rice almost everyday. I love their chicken, and their green beans are so damn good that I forget how much I hated green beans as a kid. Like... I HATED green beans.

Drive through only. I appreciate that. This is probably the best Chinese food I've ever had. The orange chicken is top notch. The chicken is good quality, no gristle pieces that usually come in Chinese food. The rice is so flavorful, it's even a yellowish color like it's cooked in something. My new favorite spot.“

“Great food, I had shrimp curry with only onions and water chestnuts for veges, my wife had pork fried rice, and we shared crab Rangoon. The crab Rangoon pieces were huge. Big portion sizes so we have plenty for lunch tomorrow and our entrees were put in very sturdy containers. We’ll go there again!!“

They don't have lemons and I had to get up to get my own drink (water) and to retrieve a to go box myself. The food was exactly what I was looking for though! Very surprised at how reasonably priced the menu is as well!“

“This place is great! It just opened back up. The woman who helped us Alice, was a sweetheart. She was very attentive and was nice to talk too. My husband and I wanted to give this place a try after we heard good things about this place and they didn't disappoint. We got crab rangoons and steamed dumplings, both were hot and delicious.We both got the lunch specials, he got garlic chicken and vegetables with egg drop soup and I got the triple delight, it had chicken, beef and shrimp with plenty of vegetables and I got hot and sour soup. Everything was hot and delicious and the portions were huge, even for it being a lunch special. The yum yum sauce was delicious too and she even brought us a couple fried donuts to try. “7/2/25- it's been since beginning of civid since I last ate here. We popped in, I brought my service dog lucky and my friend who has never had food as good as theirs. “My wife and I have been eating at Rice House for at least a decade - usually getting takeout. It's not something we eat often, and that's a shame. Their quality of food and service has always been first-rate. Just had two chicken dishes today, and the chicken was extremely high quality and perfectly prepared. Their sauces are really nice too. And the crab rangoon and egg rolls were well above average. Menu choices for lunches, combos, and dinners are extensive and budget-friendly. I saw that a friend had eaten there and have been looking for good Chinese food in Lee’s Summit. This is good Chinese food.

I dined in and enjoyed the very hot Crab Rangoon and amazing sweet n sour sauce. It was thick! Loved that it wasn’t runny.

I ordered the Mongolian Pork, extra spicy with pork fried rice. Both were super hot and delicious. Very impressive! Loved the sauce and fresh veggies.

Every once in awhile you will have to deal with a weird inconvenience like someone is buying an artificial Christmas tree out back and that delays things ten minutes or three is a delivery truck literally blocking in every single car in the parking lot. Otherwise it's probably the best priced Chinese food in Independence.“
