50 Best Bar & Grill in St. Louis

“I’ve ignored this place over the decades, assuming it was a typical dive bar. A friend assured me the food was great and I should try it. Understatement! Believe it or not I’m a hypercritical person but I could find no fault at Michael’s. During both of my visits, everything everyone ordered was cooked and seasoned beautifully. So far I can highly recommend the Greek salad (standout among the large number of Greek salads I’ve tried), the rack of lamb and the galaktoboureko - a house-made dessert consisting mainly of a fluffy custard and phyllo dough. Even the side vegetables and rice were wonderful. The beer and wine selection was good as well and I wrote down my wine to look into buying a bottle. The many servers were extremely busy and professional and our server Amy did a helluva job. Large rack of lamb with sides, entree-sized Greek salad, two beers, wine and dessert for only $80 -which for the quality of our dinner was quite a bargain. Generic name belies quality cooking and serving! Pass it on!“

“I drive past this place a lot and never paid it any attention. My friend and I wanted some frozen drinks and food. When I say this place was a pleasant surprise. From the security to the ladies working at the bar we felt cared for. Even the other patrons were really nice. You can tell they are regulars there and we enjoyed that. The drinks were A1 in taste and buzz level. The only “issue” I had was the menu I read about online wasn’t as extensive. I had my heart set on something I didn’t see in person but that’s not a dealbreaker. They will see us again.“

“Great service, and the cooks and bartenders are friendly (I didn't drink alcohol, but they wefe great when we got non-alc drinks at my company Christmas parties). The food is great too. Great place for hosting company events or private parties. I've been to several events hosted there, and they have great spaces to host events indoors or even outdoors when it's warm!“

“Such a great, small, local, neighborhood bar! Very spacious, good vibes throughout. Too cold at this time but the patio looks cute. The food was delicious, I got the Avocado Ranch Wrap and my dad enjoyed his burger, he already said he wants to come back which is high praise from him. “T is a wonderful and attentive bar tender. She greeted myself and my crew upon arriving, and she made sure that we were good throughout our visit. She was very nice and cool and her knowledge of drinks and the food menu was great. She has a wonderful spirit and she made our time at the bistro a blast. The food was wonderful and the venue itself was very clean and well kept. The food is consistently good, which is a plus and I always have such a good time when I come.“

“Stayed in Air BnB across the street awhile back for the wwe Royal Rumble. My brother and I ate here everyday, drank here at night. Laid back atmosphere. I wanted to purchase a shirt and they didn’t have my size, owner went out of his way to go dig and find me one. 10/10 recommend.“

“I wanted to leave a good review because it sounds like the mystery/holiday movie marathons get complaints sometimes and I just wanted to say how much fun I have every single time I go to either dismember the Alamo or seasons bleedings ( which I did today) like today I had previously seen 3 of the four films but I still had a lot of fun seeing them in a theater with an audience! I can’t wait for future ones! I will say the service can be meh ( I asked four times today for my iced tea to be refilled) but overall it was a fun time at the movies!“

“Just a small issue with the food, still very good and you can tell it’s hand made. Onion ring had a bit of dry batter still in the middle. Smash burger patties are not as big as we’re used to but for the price are still good, didn’t quite fill the entire bun but had a good flavor. Brussel sprouts were amazing. Service was great and the bar pour taps/set up looks awesome.“

“Crazy awesome and fairly secretive spot - a former German restaurant turned Mexican restaurant turned 70's wood paneled rec room with some of the wildest experimental music shows in town. If they are serving food the street tacos are great but the Al Pastor burrito is a true hidden gem in St. Louis. Don't miss out on this spot when its open for its limited hours!“

“Seamus is always our go to place to take our 3 young kids. They even have newly updated kids menus that have plenty of kid aproved foods and come with drinks! The patio is perfect on a nice day. The buffalo chicken sandwich is gigantic and delicious and the ranch it comes with is worth the price alone- SO good! Their burgers are huge and really good as well. The servers are always nice and attentive and the beers are always cold.“

“Wow!! What a great experience! We stopped here to grab a late dinner after an exhausting fun filled day. The food was fantastic! Highly recommend the Reuben or the meatloaf sandwich. Frozen Irish coffee was so good and the hot Irish coffee strong but very good. Employees were super nice. Bathrooms super clean. “We went there as out of towners from Indiana. We had the strip steak sandwich, with waffle fries . It was Great! Nice atmosphere , the food was really good. It was a full house , our waitress Grace was busting butt and still gave us great service. The staff was really nice. We asked for a table , then changed our minds and wanted a booth instead, and the staff still was really nice about it. I give 5 stars.“

“The food was great but now it's okay..The first time I went there, my cousin and I had an awesome time, and the food was on point.Now they have a different cook there and not many Selection to make when it comes to food. All he has are chicken and fries? Most of the time, he never had fish. It's sometimes shrimp.“

“Wife and I decided to hit the easy button after walking nine holes and grab lunch at Ruthie’s. Had been years since I’d eaten there, and certainly delivered! Sat on the patio overlooking the 9th hole, and bartender came to take our drink and food orders. Had the 2nd Shift Brooligan, which was a great IPA. We split a toasted ravioli app and the Crush Burger. Ravs we’re good, burger was absolute fire. Fries were hot and crispy, the way they should be!

Vegetarian options: They have a Black bean burger for the veggie in your life.“

“This is my 4th visit to the Lakehouse. Each time, I've sat outside because I love people watching. I've had the cod fish sandwich with fries and slaw, the blt, the wedge salad, and the burger. All delicious! The servers are always awesome, and I love that dogs are welcome on the patio! Many show up with their owners from the trail. This is a great place to visit!“

Tasted great.
Love the union and mushrooms on it.
Baked beans were also great.

“Drinks here are amazing! The bar manager Maurice was attentive toward everyone and the bartender? She was a delight as well. The atmosphere was clean, cozy and the perfect way to chill while downtown. I have not had the food yet but I seen some delicious plates go out so I will be back! :)“
