“We were celebrating our daughter receiving her Ph D. This place was highly recommended. Had a WONDERFUL experience. The food was fabulous. The staff extremely friendly. Nice wide open space. Being in the business. I was watching the other staffs interaction with guests and other co workers. EXCELLENT VIBE in the house. HIGHLY recommend. All in All. Guests Staff. Food. Cleanliness. “One of my favorite places for lunch. The Kirkwood location has a really fun arcade room sure to make any gathering for any ages unique and interesting. The street corn, margaritas, empanadas and three piggies burrito are my favorites!“

“We went there with a large group. The atmosphere was great! Beautiful views and nice setup. Odd thing though, when we arrived early the waitress said we wouldn't get service until the start time. I understand maybe not having dedicated service but do you really want to not serve customers that are willing to drink? ?“

“It is small, all the chairs are bar height and so are the tables. There was no place for us to sit in front of the band so we had to sit off to the side at the bar. Not really an issue for us but it was not very comfortable. It was quite Smoky and they left the doors closed. I believe it would have been better to leave the door open so some of the smoke could filter out. The owner was also the bartender and I like her a lot! If you are a smoker this would probably be a great place for you. If you don't mind sitting on bar height stools then this is the place for you. The bathrooms are extremely tiny after you get into the stall... So it's not big girlfriend friendly.
I just don't think this was the place for us but by the amount of people that were there it is definitely the place for a lot of other people!

“This little dive bar is so adorable. There were a couple of pups there which i loved. But im not sure if dogs are allowed so they might have been service dogs. The bartender was very nice and i even got "gonged" for being a first timer. It sucks they dont serve food. But the regulars there were very nice and welcoming. There is a touch tunes juke box available. Only down side is that there is smoking allowed inside. But i will definitely be back because it was a great experience.“

“I got lucky and nabbed a last minute reservation for my birthday. This is truly my favorite restaurant! The food as always was exceptional. The only thing that was lacking was our waitress seemed a little put off being there. She was timely and attentive, but really not very friendly. This has not been the case on any other visit to your restaurant.“

“It was a rare out of town date night for us and we chose Olive and Oak for a couple reasons. They were open late on Sunday and the menu looked amazing. From start to finish, this was a wonderful dining experience. The NA mocktails were amazing. The atmosphere is stunning. We tried several different things on the menu and were not disappointed by any of them. Our server, Jordan, was fantastic. We were greeted right away by the friendly Madi behind the bar. Great conversations, lots of laughs, and good prices. The kitchen was closed, so we are unable to speak to that. “We have been there MANY times since they moved (and before). They have hired multiple executive chefs. I think they can't decide upon the clientele they want to attract. A couple of visits ago, their classic Wellington (my usual since the 70's and as a kid, before) had been changed so much I have vowed to never order it again. The meat, the sauce, the contents of the sauce, and the shell were ALL no longer classic. We were there again on 19-Sept-25 to hear a friend play guitar... as we always do. The dressing on the Ceaser Salad was on the cusp of uneatable. Fiends at two OTHER tables (there were a bunch of us) also found the salads they got as not acceptable. This is strange since over the years I have eaten perhaps over 50 such salads with nary a complaint. I might also add that removing the two little private rooms has changed our brunch options. We have been regular brunch customers since before the name Herbie's got employed (and then a move). And before the Wellington disaster, we were regular Wedding/Birthday celebration customers. Shame on BOTH accounts.“

“We had my niece’s 25th birthday here and I was a fabulous party. We asked for Becky to serve us which she always does with exuberant smiles and attention. Matt, Satchmo’s owner, was here and mingled with us like any bar/restaurant should. As a chef, this tells me volumes of how he runs his establishment. I religiously order the pork green chili(which is phenomenal) and the fish and chips were to die for, exactly how I like it. This place is the quintessential neighborhood bar!“

“When I walked in, I realized the place was packed, but we were hoping the wait wasn't too long, they quoted 45 minutes, which was a little too long for us. There was 5 of us and we decided to sit at the bar. And I'm sure glad we did. We had a bartender, I forgot her name, but she had purple hair, she was the absolute best. Not only did she make amazing drinks, she made sure our food came out right and hot. She also entertained us the whole time we were there, by engaging in conversations. You don't see that very much these days. If there was a word better than perfect, that's how I would describe it. I'll definitely be sitting at the bar more often.“
