“It was a rare out of town date night for us and we chose Olive and Oak for a couple reasons. They were open late on Sunday and the menu looked amazing. From start to finish, this was a wonderful dining experience. The NA mocktails were amazing. The atmosphere is stunning. We tried several different things on the menu and were not disappointed by any of them. Our server, Jordan, was fantastic. My boyfriend is a restaurant owner/chef in Columbia and to watch him truly enjoy every bit of that meal made my heart happy as well. We will absolutely be back. Many times:)“

Neighborhood wise, cannot by any means judge a book by its cover. this place is an absolute diamond in the rough with an incredibly beautiful interior and many wonderful surprises inside. The owner was kind, friendly, and personable. I felt like we were genuinely good friends after our short visit. I am upset that we discovered this place at the end of our vacation otherwise we wpuld have spent the whole day here. He has been in business just about one year and gave us a full tour of what's to come. the initial inside is a full bar of wine, liquor, and beer. we toured the back that has a gorgeous patio space, and beyond that is a cigar lounge. TVs and theater seating. he then showed us the speakeasy. through the secret door against the wall, you walk upstairs and find an additional whole wine bar with 1930s themed speakeasy vibes. I cannot wait to come back to st. Louis in a couple years and see everything finished and ready to roll. such an innovative and awesome place I wish our hometown had.“

“I think this may be my new favorite restaurant in St. Louis. The ambience alone is absolutely beautiful, but combine that with amazing food and impeccable service and you have a winner. Best oysters I’ve ever had, and those Gruyère puffs are insanely good. I had the Bavette steak, and my husband had the chicken cordon bleu… Incredible! You cannot miss out on the drinks; the cocktails are so good and the spritz hour is a great deal. Highly recommend!“

Neat little restaurant that’s a bit of a hidden gem.
Small location. Quiet with a great seasonal menu. Wait staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable of the menu.
We ordered wine and entrees. The serving size was appropriate and not too much.
We asked for a special dessert. The waitress worked with the kitchen to accommodate our request. It was wonderful. (See pics for ice cream. Caramel and scotch)

“I think the atmosphere and wine itself is great, but this facility is SUPER deceiving. I came with a larger group, but when I checked out, the tip being shown seemed low, but the server does not inform you that’s because they’re already adding a 22% tip on your receipt. It is a digital checkout, so they just show you the total, no physical receipt of the purchase breakout. I also received an extra crostini for the app I ordered and without being told, I was charged for this extra bread. If they were upfront about the fees, it would be different, but they aren’t. Incredibly disappointing to try and support a local company that’s stealing during this current economic state.“

Service was attentive and professional—waters stayed full, pacing was relaxed, and the staff knew the menu. The patio is comfortable for a leisurely lunch, and the marble-topped tables add a touch of polish. If there’s a quibble, it’s that the sandwich could use a small side (greens or fries) to round out the plate, but the quality of the main more than compensates.

“We had an engagement party held at Clayton Winehouse. The space was perfect! They were easy to work with, and the best part was we could bring in our own food. We had many dietary restrictions with guests and were able to accommodate them since we had food made specifically for them. The bartender was on point all evening!! When we got there, none of the decorations were working out and the bar tender fixed them all. She was truly amazing and made the stress disappear. At the end of the event, I look over and she had things packed up. She was fabulous and had a great personality. “The Capital Grill in Clayton was outstanding. The ladies at the front desk greeted us warmly and say us right away and wished us a happy anniversary. The young man that Brough out our waters and bread was friendly and also wished us a happy anniversary. Our waiter was dinner friendly and brought us champagne, and also wished us a happy anniversary. The manager came by to check on us during the meal and sent drinks out to us. The meal was incredible and was highlighted by my wagyu filet. I've never had a better steak in my life. At the end of a marvelous dinner the waiter brought out some complimentary dessert. I am a big believer that it's the little things that make an experience become great over just good. The Capital Grill has great food and excellent service, but on top of that they do all the little things right. It's something that you remember and tell others. We would highly recommend.“
