“Recently back to Meridian after being gone over 20 years and had a wonderful memory reminded. The Rustler was better than it was when I lived here previously. The service was wonderful! Semes, our hostess, was beyond comparison. She was friendly, genuine, and suggested the perfect meal for me. The waiter was also helpful, courteous, and attentive. The filet was mouthwatering and cooked to my rare temperature preference. The other components of the meal were equally as good. I suggest the Wine and Cheese dressing and the sautéed mushrooms were really delicious. My friends also enjoyed their meals and their first time at the Rustler. We'll be back again! Thank You!“

“My parents and I stumbled across this place on our way home, and what a find it was. From the moment we stepped inside, we knew we were somewhere special. The exposed brick and thoughtful décor struck the perfect balance—classic and nostalgic with just the right touch of modern style. We were immediately welcomed by the sweetest hostess (I hate that I can’t remember her name—she had glasses, a beautiful smile, and the cutest dress). She greeted us with genuine warmth and hospitality that’s hard to come by these days. She led us into the main dining room and seated us at a charming table dressed in crisp white linens. The space featured more exposed brick, tasteful artwork, and just the right amount of décor. The temperature was perfect, and the tables were spaced far enough apart to create an intimate, relaxed atmosphere. Our waiter arrived promptly and was both friendly and knowledgeable. He clearly knew his craft and took the time to walk us through the specials, making sure we felt confident and excited about our choices. We ordered sweet tea, which was perfectly brewed—not overly sweet, just right. The complimentary peanut butter and crackers were something new to us, but after reading about the history behind it, we appreciated the thoughtful touch even more. Our food arrived quickly, and everything was fresh and cooked to order. We tried the spicy chicken sandwich, the cheeseburger, and a special featuring a panini with a cup of gumbo. Each entrée came with perfectly cooked homemade chips. Every bite was spot-on—truly a 10 out of 10. Even though we were full, we couldn’t resist ordering dessert—when in Rome, right? We chose the peanut butter pie and the famous Black Bottom pie. After one bite of those generously sized slices, we all paused and just looked at each other. I don’t exaggerate when I say we unanimously agreed they were the best pies we’ve ever had. What started as a plan to sample a few bites and take the rest to go ended with two completely empty plates. We consider ourselves food lovers, and I genuinely couldn’t find a single flaw in the entire experience. We live nearly three hours away and are already planning a trip back. If you’ve made it this far in my amateur review, thank you—and I truly hope you get the chance to experience this wonderful, history-filled gem for yourself.“

“Just ate lunch at the Punjab Palace on the Frontage Road in Meridian, MS. My son ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, while I ordered the Butter Chicken. The location was once the Checkerboard, so it is not a new facility, but it was clean and neat. The staff were friendly and quick. The food was incredible! I mean, incredible. Best Butter Chicken I have ever had. The Naan was perfect. We will go back. Their hours are 11 am to 10 PM EVERY DAY. I can't brag enough about it. Next time I will try the Chicken Currie. I recommend the Punjab Palace for really good Northern Indian Cuisine.“

“I came in Thursday for the turkey and dressing I was greeted by Felicia and sat at Hailey table who nice and friendly. They both took great care of me. I will definitely be back“

“We got the Buffet, and also ordered one steak. The steak was incredible. Tender, great portion size, and delicious. The salad bar was fresh, and well-stocked. Nothing was empty. The ham and mashed potatoes were great, and the catfish was excellent. Everyone was in-line awaiting the rolls, because they are just that good. The cinnamon rolls called out to me, but my blood-sugar held me back.. dangit.

Service:
To their credit it was very busy, and it took time to bring us our drinks and silverware. I noticed some of the salad plates, while they'd been cleaned recently, still had old food stuck to them. There was a wait for dessert dishware too. This all seemed to be because it was Sunday rush.
Overall atmosphere was family-oriented and everyone was friendly. We would visit again.“
