“I have had positive experiences with the service at Casa Mexicana on the two prior occasions that I’ve been. Yesterday, I took family from out of town for lunch and expected a similar experience. I was disappointed when the server assigned to our table ended her shift without telling us and we were not told who our new server would be. Then, all of our orders were brought out incorrectly. They had to take the orders all over again and remake food for us, extending the lunch longer than planned. The food was very good when it was finally right, but at the expense of the service. When I told the manager politely what had happened, he did not apologize or acknowledge the problem. He listened stonefaced to my explanation and offered 10 percent off. While the discount was appreciated, what should have happened was an apology as well. People make mistakes - that’s ok. But when it happens, they should respect your concern, take responsibility for the issue, and apologize. I would still come back, but this issue with service needs to be addressed.“

“Night Bird Bar is a true hidden gem, but the real star of the show is Cara! Hands down the best bartender I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Her attention to detail, warm personality, and instinctive service took the whole experience to another level. Before I even had time to think about my next drink, Cara had it ready—perfectly made and exactly what I wanted. It’s rare to come across someone with that kind of intuition and professionalism. “A casual bar and restaurant with generally excellent food but uneven service, ranging from excellent to meh. Very good burgers, reasonable pasta and many like their pizza though I feel Oxford has much better pizza options. I really like their french fries, not sure of the name but like my father used to make, probably a variation of what some call steak fries but only the straight parts without wedges. Can be very busy and can be loud depending on the crowd and time of day.“

“First time to go to the Donut Distillery--such a fun place. Drinks were amazing. Needed a slow down during parent weekend. Aaron is witty and quick to get drinks out. Will be back.“

“Great Texas style barbecue! You line up and give them your order and move down the line to pay. Very fast and efficient service. Very friendly staff. Brisket. Ribs. Turkey. Plates and sandwiches. Lots of sides like potato salad, macaroni and cheese ( it was extremely salty), green beans, baked beans. Several types of cobblers. A full bar. The seating is all high tops and only seats 6 at a table. It’s a little loud. There is a side room with regular tables that could be moved together but it was very warm in there- A/C not working.“
