“I came to support a group of students earlier this week to celebrate winning king and queen of the school. First of all let me say the staff was very rude to the administration staff. Even though reservations were made and confirmed and they knew in advance that the students were coming they refused to seat our party and denied the reservations ever being made even after being shown the email messages. The female manager asked for us to wait outside of the restaurant being that it was about 42 degrees that day until the limousine arrived to pick the students back up . The children were dressed in their Sunday best with white dresses and the young boys were in tuxedos and were looking forward to having their luncheon that was awarded to them for their hard work at school. I strongly believe that if the students were not all African American and staff as well they would have treated us differently. I will never ever support nor spend money with Majestic Grill again. I was hurt the way they treated these students who worked oh so hard and were looking forward to what was supposed to be a special day to remember.“

“Visited Flying Saucer Draught Emporium at the Peabody Place location in Memphis with two coworkers and left with mixed but mostly positive impressions.

I ordered the Whiskey Burger without bacon, and the whiskey cheddar came through nicely while the blackberry compote was subtle, more of a background sweetness than a bold flavor. The patty itself was cooked well and the bun held up.

My only real complaint was the hand punched fries, which came out soggy and lacked the crispness I was hoping for.

One coworker ordered the Sputnik Monroe with a side of rocket tots and felt similarly let down by the tots, so between the two of us the sides were the weak point of the meal.
The other coworker went with the Big Dipper and hand punched fries and seemed satisfied with the pick.

Beyond the food, the atmosphere at this spot is hard to beat. The ceiling covered in bottle caps and the checkered floor give it a fun, lived in bar feel, and the service throughout our visit was attentive and friendly with no complaints there.
Between the strong burger, good service, and great atmosphere against the disappointing fries, I would still recommend Flying Saucer for a casual bite and a beer, just maybe skip the fries and try the tots or another side instead.“

“I initially came for drinks and I didn’t realized it was Indian food. I’m soooo glad I tried it. It was GREAT! I had butter chicken and my partner had kadai spicy chicken. It was my first time trying Indian food. The garlic naan was really good too! The drink were STRONG, I only could drink one drink it was a guava cocktail and it was really good. Happy hour is everyday 3-7pm. Service and staff was amazing! I will be back!!“

Their son Devin helped me with a flat tire one time and advised me on a new haircut!!! I definitely look better after his advice. Chelsea is the bartender and is always ready with prompt service. She once wrestled a possum off of my car for me and then trained him and then housed him because he was an orphan. I wonder how that possum is doing these days? “When The Downstairs in San Antonio closed years ago, the wife and I thought our speakeasy-style bar-to-visit went the way of the dodo bird. I'm happy to report that, upon traveling through Memphis, we have found a highly appropriate replacement.

The Dame Bar, located under Hotel Pontotoc, is a fabulous place to sit and stay awhile. Our bartender, Tony, knew his drinks and kept it light on that fateful Monday night. I sat and drank a few Irish whiskeys while the wife got her coffee, as well as a bourbon bread pudding from the kitchen that left our taste buds lying to our stomachs yet again.

We don't make it through Memphis but maybe once per year these days, but if the bar is this good, we plan on making the hotel a regular vacation hotspot for my family and I. Side note, they have merch!“
