“Am at the point where hearing the word Torta any time within the lunchtime window triggers me like a sleeper agent and I find myself driving down Summer in an almost hypnotized state to get the $10.99 torta de carnitas here. Don’t know how good the other food is. Never ordered it. Torta de carnitas with whatever homemade salsa they’ve got that day, dipping the whole sandwich in it like I’m eating a French dip with au jus. Bread so soft. Carnitas so tender. Salsa so smoky. It was my birthday not to long ago and I decided to go out to eat, to celebrate and honestly it was worth it, the food is a 10/10 (like aways) and it made me realize that it’s been now 12 years since I first ever came to eat here, and honestly the food is as delicious as it was that first time. I honestly can’t recommend any other place but here, everything is so good.“

“Tucked away, smack in the middle of “malfunction junction” in what looks like a decade long road construction zone is a little Mexican restaurant. I found this place in my adventures in memphis as I was holding up getting repairs done. The breakfast here specifically titas breakfast was amazing. As I ate I watched as the chef worked on lunch items think I can’t wait to come back!“

“Food was good but steak was well done when I asked for medium rare. I did a carryout order. It was very loud and server could barely hear me when I was standing right in front of her. Plus she was mumbling so I had to constantly ask her to repeat herself. Really annoying.“

The protruding out of the covering will stick on your forearms if you’re leaning on the table near the edge.“

While waiting to pick a load up here in Memphis, I decided to Uber Eats some tacos. I thought these would be the basic skimpy street tacos you usually get and eat like 5 and still be hungry so I ordered 6. I’m a big guy and 3 filled me up when I can usually do 7-10 from a standard taco truck. They don’t skimp on meat, full of flavor, the Pastor were possibly the best I’ve ever had. And the asada and barbacoa would compete head to head with the best I’ve had! If you’re looking for tacos this is THE PLACE!“

“Our waitress Dulce was terrible. She only checked on the table twice. She brought our cocktails after the appetizers and food was served. My daughter asked her 3 times for lemons to go with her water the lemons finally came after we were done eating. My friend’s food never got Laney to the kitchen so we asked for the manager. He was very polite and after my friend asked him to cancel her order because the table was done eating he politely said he would fix her order to go and not charge her for it. The manager’s service was very professional. When paying for the 2 separate checks Dulce still got it wrong and after we told her she said no and we had to call the manager over again to fix her mistakes. If you get the waitress named Dulce please ask to be moved to another person’s table immediately. All my other experiences here at this location was wonderful. Don’t let one rotten apple spoil the bunch.“

“Very authentic Mexican ice cream place. Very low-key . Super good quality snacks and sweets. Totally recommend!!! I prefer going here rather than La Michoacána.

Kid-friendliness: Very accommodating. They have seats and tables for the children to sit. And even have a tv they sometimes play kid movies on. The whole store look very vibrant and attractive to the eye. Kids will enjoy being in here to eat some treats !

Parking: The parking is Infront of the store. However because the store is low key there's not much space to park. You would need to mainly park in the store next to it to have good and safe parking.“

“This place was referred to me by one of my patients. I kept saying I can't find any decent tamales since I moved here two years ago. She was please tell me about this lovely little spot I absolutely love their tamale options and have gone back multiple times. My husband was surprisingly pleased with the rice and beans (he's not really a Mexican food fan). I would definitely highly recommend this place!“

“This food was so good. It tasted like really good home cooking. They were so friendly and helped me decide what to order, which wasn’t easy because it all looked good, and honestly I wanted everything. I decided to try the beef soup. Hearty, delicious, and filling big bowl of soup with beef, potatoes, corn, cabbage. It was so homey and authentic and real, that I think the soup probably changes based on the ingredients and la Señora deciding what she wants that day.

I have to go back soon for the tacos. Or the empanadas. Cheese and banana empanadas! Ok yes. That’s what I need next. Or tamales? Help!

Dec. 24, I got some tamales to add to the Christmas dinner feast. Chicken, cheese, and pork. I heated them on low in the oven Christmas Day, and they were all excellent. I think I’ll make tamales part of our family’s Christmas tradition from now on.“
