“Great food always. I mostly do takeout and when I'm getting something that's supposed to be crispy, they package it for me so I can build it once I get home. That's good service in my opinion. The restaurant always looks clean. I live in Millington and I'm hoping they will open a location there.“

We went last night for my birthday just out of convenience for it being next to our main event -Malco’s- but ended up being so pleasantly surprised with an above average experience. “This is my automatic go-to Mexican restaurant if I'm having a craving for it. We always get our food within 15 minutes. They provide a delicious basket of fresh tortilla chips and salsa while you're seated. The booths are also large and spacious. A few on the staff can be slightly difficult to understand since English isn't their first language, but there are other staff members to help if needed. I suggest trying the horchata if you have never had it as a drink before.“

“This delicious and authentic restaurant has a good selection of plant based options, that can be modified for a vegan option. Great prices, the lunch specials are very affordable. The place is clean, very friendly service. It's a good option for a dining experience that doesn't break the bank.“

“Awesome food.Molcajete is the best. Service today sucked. I had molcajete, cheese dip, sampler platter. There was so much on the table between those items, the girls drinks, my water and amargarita, and chips. No room, so we eat,get to go boxes no room, to even get the food in a box. 4 employees sitting behind the cashier talking, (we were at the first 4 top in front of the cashier) it was not busy we went early cuz we know how crowded it gets. Several servers walking around… not one, even our server didn’t take any dishes away, I was spilling food trying to move things around and get things out of the way to get in boxes. Very aggravating. I love the food there, but, I go out so I don’t have to cook, clean up, and to have a good time and relax. Not to work or be inconvenienced. I usually tip well, but , no not today. There’s 100’s of Mexican restaurants here. When I found this place we were on a quest to find the best Mexican restaurant in town… we stopped there as we believed we found the best.. but the service seems to be lacking lately, so I believe our quest will continue“

“So many Mexican places in Memphis are all about tacos . Don't get me wrong. I love a good taco, but sometimes the urge hits first a plate of gooey Mexican food with straight up rice and refried beans. This place looks a bit run down from the outside, but it is clean and bright on the inside. We were greeted and seated quickly. I chose to have a grilled Margarita to drink. This is a really great Margarita finished with grilled orange slices. So good, and a bargain at $13. I just wished for a little more salt. My entree was a combo with a chili poblano, a bean enchilada and a tostada. It was all very enjoyable and the price was very reasonable. I believe we will return on a fairly regular basis.“

“Our server was very nice and attentive. We had a small wait to get a table but that was fine with us, it means the food is good if it's packed. I like the way the chicken and steak are finely chopped in the mixed fajita. My kid devoured her Quesadilla Roja. The salsa was really good too. We will definitely be back.Parking: The lot circles the building. If they're really busy you might have to make an extra lap around to find a spot.“

“El Mero catered my client appreciation party this past weekend for 50 people and it couldn't have gone better! The food was delivered on time and set up with chaffing trays, making my life much less stressful as I prepared for my guests' arrival. The food was awesome and multiple people asked me who the caterer was. I will definitely be working with them for all of my future events!“

“Fresh and Famous This spot is not fancy. It is not Tex Mex. It is not cheap. It IS the best Mexican food we have ever had. It IS great food period. They pride themselves on their "Mexico City" fare. It is one of two family-owned locations that have received terrific publicity nationally, locally and on TV shows like Guy Fieri. Everything is fresh, made by hand and delicious. We had the Chicken Tienga Tostada, guacamole, Al Pastor Tacos and Tortilla Soup this time. Have never had anything that was not wonderful.“

“I ordered takeout for a meeting I had with 5 of my staff members. The ordering process was very easy and smooth. The food was ready when I was told it would be. All the food was hot and every raved about how good it was. We ordered several different dishes and they were all excellent. “What can I say? I grew up in So Cal and Mexican food was the norm. This place takes me home every time I eat their tacos. Even the little things like the tortilla. They have picked the right tortillas to use for their tacos. Love this place!“

“This has been my favorite Mexican restaurant for years! Anytime someone wants to go out to eat, I suggest Playita! Being a family owned/ran restaurant, the service is always friendly and inviting. Food arrives QUICKLY and is delicious. I always get tacos, but my friends and family have tried a variety of foods that have always been suburb, and the cheese dip is to die for! Not to mention, it's very affordable. My usual meal is no more than $10-$15 with taxes and all included.Thank you, Playita Staff!“

“This is our favorite place in Arlington for Mexican food. Mr. Torres & team are awesome. Aside from dining there regularly, we've used them for the past 2 Christmases to cater our big family get-togethers. Their quesadillas, nachos, enchiladas rancheros, & fajitas are all wonderful. Try their alambre if you want something a little different that will fill you up! Great service, good atmosphere, convenient location, good parking, & above all else, super great Mexican food!“

The margaritas were great make sure you ask what all the sizes look like bc the large was like a 32oz which I'm not complaining but definitely got my attention when it was brought to the table.“

“Our motorcycle riding club had our National event here for 2023 and after days of riding, fast food and food trucks, this was a blessing. They were able to get our entire party (impromptu group) seated all together and the service was outstanding as was the food. Plus they got the Ole Miss game on for me! “I had a rather large order for a work meeting, they called to confirm the time and the food was ready when i arrived, the young ladies helped me load all of the bags in the car, amazing customer service! the food is amazing, i love the shrimp tacos, they have this watermelon blended drink *chefs kiss* super refreshing! “Loved it!!!Me and my two sisters came in around 1, close to 2pm. We were seated right away into a booth. We were assigned to an amazing waiter, he spoke both English and Spanish. He was very nice, and welcoming. We ordered the Carne asada tacos, with a side of rice and beans, along with a kids quesadilla with rice, and chicken flautas. Along with two sodas and a water. We were checked on regularly throughout our meal. The waiter and the front staff were very very nice, despite having a little one who talked everyone’s ear off, they showed no annoyance or disliking. “Been here before and it was one of the best Mexican restaurants around. Great chorizo tacos, simple and well priced. But recently the service has gotten pretty subpar. They missed a couple of the items I ordered completely, all the drinks were just warm cans of soda and they didn't bring the fresh juice they advertise at all. The food was still decent, but not as fresh as it has been. May have been an off day but it was disappointing enough to reconsider going again.“

“The perfect location for a relaxing Mexican meal. People serving here are jovial and professional and The Hawaiian Fajitas are amazing! Each ingredient has its own unique flavor and more than enough on the platter to fill a person up. The Margaritas are top notch and the chips are nice, thick and expertly fried. The only thing I could complain about is the comical location of the toilet paper holder in the men's room. Which is far beyond the average guy's arm reach.“

“My family has been going here since at least 2008. As a kid, we would eat here after my soccer practices, and I think I even had my graduation dinner here. Everyone was always super friendly and kind. My family doesn't live as close anymore, but I recently brought my husband here to show him my childhood Mexican restaurant, and the beef chimichangas and the service are both just as good as I remembered. Didn’t try any drinks but they had a cilantro margarita which I thought was interesting… shrimp tacos were super yummy, the fried tacos are very filling because the breading and I actually preferred the shrimp street tacos over the fried.“

“This place is always packed! I don't think I've ever been here when there were not tons of people. The food is excellent. My husband loves the street tacos, and I like the sampler. They have a seasoning that they sprinkle on their chips, which is amazing! We had an issue with a to-go order last week, and the manager was so wonderful to replace it the next day. That's the only time we've ever had a problem, and they handled it with great customer service!“

I was amazed that they serve their steak fajitas sliced whole, instead on minced to pieces as many other Mexican eateries locally. Wife's enchiladas were excellent as was the container of guacamole we brought home. Prices may be a bit higher, but the quality of the food matches the price in my opinion. The complimentary chips were also outstanding as they were fresh and slightly seasoned (spicy) that you did not even need a dip to eat them (LOL!). Have to mention that outstanding service by our waiter Tyler. Thank You Tyler for a memorable authentic Mexican/Tex - Mex meal. Salsa is our new place for authentic Mexican experience in dining.
