Great food, great atmosphere, and great staff. I need to get down there more.
The Boxcar is an intimate neighborhood restaurant that is big on good wines, good food and a welcoming atmosphere.
I took my nephew and his wife to dinner at Box Car last nights. They live in Washington state and visit occasionally. I always try to bring them to the Box Car when they visit, and it is also our go-to restaurant for special occasions. We live in the neighborhood, so it is easy to access-- not parking hassles. The food was wonderful and the service excellent, and the atmosphere in the restaurant is relaxing.

Boxcar Bistro offers beautifully presented, delicate dishes with complimenting flavors, perfect for special celebrations. The venue is intimate, with a warm and pleasant atmosphere, and excellent service that is knowledgeable and professional. The food is delicious and always fresh, cooked to perfection. The menu features outstanding beef and duck options, including the incredible duck appetizer and the steak frites, which are favorites among diners. The french onion soup is also highly recommended. The wine and beer selection is one of the best in town, exceptional with a good variety to complement each meal. Diners can enjoy happy hour offerings that are surprisingly good. Boxcar Bistro continues to provide a memorable dining experience, combining artful food with a cozy atmosphere, making it a great choice for date nights and special occasions.
