“Got dinner this evening and while I already loved La Palma….YO tonight my food was extra delicious!!! Roast pork was BANGING and I asked for some marinated onions like they have in the yuca which sets it off perfectly. Go to La Palma have a delicious meal!“

“This is a small restaurant. Food was good and service was friendly. Parking lot is small. I had to park next door. But overall a good experience. I had the Coop sandwich which is a chicken breast with barbecue sauce, bacon and melted cheddar. It was a little messy but that’s what happens with barbecue sauce. It was very tasty though.“

“Ate here for the first time. Love that there are lots of options in one place. Ate some excellent sushi, but plan to go back to try some of the other places. Plenty of tables, very clean, and despite there being lots of people it was not loud or too crowded.“

“I've been sitting on writing this review for awhile, probably longer than I should, but I still remember the evening pretty well and recently came across the photos that I had yet to post, so here goes nothing! But that is kind of the point, a restaurant like Marisol should leave you anxious to go home and tell others about what a great eating experience you had. In my case, while the food overall was good, I wasn't taken aback by anything, and at this price point, I feel that I should have been. Things started off really well, the server was eager to explain the restaurant and menu, and stayed very attentive throughout. Honestly, for my taste, overly attentive. But it's not a big place, and also wasn't very busy, so it makes sense he would have stayed vigilant with us. After ordering drinks, we received a small starter of goat cheese on crostini with some bruschetta, a nice way to kick things off. Then, one of the highlights, the basket of incredible breads was presented to us. If he had left the basket at the table, we probably would have run through it all, but we did have a few pieces with butter, that were beyond excellent. The appetizer course was fantastic. Flash fried buttermilk shrimp, house made gravlax, tomato pie, cavatelli, and a duck special. The tomato pie, I honestly wish i could have ordered a larger slice for my entrée, because I could eat that every day. The gravlax was kind of like eating lox, and I dug the texture with the crispy bread and shmear. The shrimp were plump, but given the price, nothing about them set them apart from fried shrimp elsewhere. The duck.. I said earlier about the tomato pie, maybe just give me the duck and tomato pie for an entrée, I would have been happy. For my main, i got the blackened NC mountain trout, and like others at my table, this is where the meal started to fall flat. The trout just didn't set itself apart in any way, other than the fish being clearly fresh. The blackening didn't add much flavor, nor did the sauce that it came with. For this being the supposed centerpiece of our experience, it was disappointing. I found myself wishing I got the duck breast that someone else had. For dessert, we shared the vanilla bean creme brulee and the bread pudding. The crème brûlée was well executed, which is no ordinary feat, so big props for that. The bread pudding however was the total opposite. I have never really encountered dry bread pudding before, but this was it. Even though it was covered in chocolate sauce (would have just liked a dish of that) and ice cream, still somehow dry to the bone. I was surprised the waiter didn't ask about it, given it was barely touched by all of us, and he had been so attentive to everything else. In the end, for the money, I don't know that I would return. As I said earlier, at this price point, it kind of needs to be great from top to bottom. Some of it was, but the most important part was kind of pedestrian. I could definitely see myself coming back for drinks and apps though!“

“Alexandria and Alesha are amazing! I highly recommend catering an event at Bistro 1605. My daughter was graduating from HPU. I live in DC and we had approximately 30 family members coming to her graduation. They worked with me to organize a luncheon. The location, its size, and their flexibility allowed me to host a very memorable event. The pimento cheese and chips are to die for! The food was good and they let us in early to decorate the restaurant. I can't say enough about their professionalism and friendliness. The proximity to the school, available parking, and access to the TV and refrigerators made the planning of this event stress free. They also allowed us to bring in outside food and drinks. The family was very pleased. Would definitely eat here again and use their services.“

“Went in yesterday and a diner had her dog sitting with her in the chair as she ate at the bar. I was told the dog had a "certificate," which people can get for 99 cents online if they want to impose their "emotional support" dog on other people in restaurants. Restaurants and coffee shops need to follow NC code, which allows service dogs but not emotional support pets. I left and I doubt I will go back, but I will miss the onion rings and local atmosphere. It's a good place if you don't mind eating with dogs. But I'm done with this nonsense.“

“Ambiance - This place was styled and decorated like a higher end bar and grill. Seats were comfortable, tables were clean, artwork was great and on theme. I was immediately able to relax. Service - Our waiter was top tier. Attentive, informative, pleasant, and polite. If all of the staff are as good at their job as he is, this place is set. Food - Holy cats. Delicious. Mouth watering. Exactly what I was looking forward to at a burger bar. Not to mention inexpensive! I was more than pleased when the bill came. The next time in the area, I will be going to Bad Daddy's again!“

“The ambiance is spectacular. The place is home to this restaurant and a bed and breakfast. I'm not sure what the food was like previously but the new chef has done amazing things with this new menu. Everything we had was amazing. I'm in no way a vegetable guy but the broccolini was the almost the star of the meal for me! The mushroom ravioli is not pictured below but that's because we ate it so quickly, it was amazing. Really everything was and priced nicely for the quality. The service excited my expectations, the waitress even gave us a few facts about the building. The outdoor seating will be my hangout place for the spring and summer for sure.“

“So the wonky design is always fun to see, there's alot going on here so it takes a few visits to see all the decor. The food is rather average. I had the 3 way, and ribs were actually cold. I had to ask for the baked beans (which was hot and very tasty) as they weren't served with everything else. I really expected the food to be more over the top then it was. I'll go back again possibly to give another plate a try. Great place for groups and night out with friends or family.“

“My family and I had nothing but positive experiences here for our first visit. The inside is a bit shabby, but our food was delicious. The waitress was friendly and attentive and made sure we had refills. I got the Philly cheese steak omelet. It was very big and full of meat and cheese. The chopped sirloin and country fried steak was tender and piping hot. The mashed potatoes, pintos, and cabbage were flavorful and fresh. Can't forget the thick and crispy Texas toast! Good food and good service.“

“A very casual, very affordable, typical fried fish house. For North Carolina, it is a solid 4 stars. What I ate was previously frozen fish. They were out of clamstrips. For my friends from New England, you would be deeply disappointed and rate this place a 2. What's with these silly clam strips? Where's the bellies? Where's the fresh seafood?“

“Great food! Large portions!! My only critique is that the waitress did not say their name. This will develop a rapport with customers and will exceed expectations rather than asking the usual question "What will you have to drink?" Nevertheless, I will return.“
