“If I could give them 10 stars, I would! I took my husband here for his birthday dinner last night, & we definitely felt like we had a culinary experience! The drinks we spectacular & affordable. We did the chef tasting for dinner, & the staff made it like telling a story through food. Our server Jesse G was so personable, animated, made great recommendations, & very attentive to us the entire meal. Okay, so just about the food. We are total foodies, especially on a vacation/for a special occasion like this. We loved unqiue, tasty foods, & occasionally enjoy a more fine dining experience. Our meal at Ukiah was that & more! It was served in 10 small plate courses. They spaced each dish, timed them perfectly, & each dish built on the last in such a way that was truly amazing. Just when we thought the last one was our favorite, the next one was as good or better. The vanilla, almond, coconut cake with house ice cream finisher almost wrecked me lol! I could have licked the plate clean, but I was honestly too full to commit that hard. Every staff member that brought us a dish, refilled our drinks, cleared our table, etc were so friendly. Jesse (funny enough, also my husband's name & same spelling) was one of the best waiter's we've had, but also the kind of person you just want to be friends with after you eat & go hang out at the bar or something. It is definitely a higher end restaurant, but for the experience & service, it is well worth the money! We hope to return some day for sure!“

“We went to Miyako for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and we are going again tonight. This restaurant is a gem in downtown Asheville. The aroma lured us in, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The kitchen appears clean and well-org - and the service was delightful!“

Waiter was Cassidy he was very nice and welcoming with great knowledge of the menu, this was our first time there and was so relieved to find a great noodle stop as we have tried others and were highly disappointed but not here. We got the dynamite shrimp , so creamy and just a hint of heat, we got the kids ramen so next extra stuff just the noodles and broth and those had great flavor they approved!! I got the deluxe ramen with the black garlic oil and pork belly so bold and smooth, and we got the spicy ramen which had a great heat level and my husband loved. Over all great food worth the price which wasn’t super high , nice environment with great music choice would highly recommend!!!! Thanks again Cassidy“

“We loved everything. Stopped in the other day after checking out the menu posted by the door. Subtle delicious flavors, exactly what Japanese food should be! The homemade pickles were outstanding - eggplant, radish, carrot. The ginger honey tea was so light but with perfectly balanced flavor. Our sushi and sashimi as well as the cold noodle dish were some of the best food we've had in Asheville anywhere. Just loved the experience.“

“This is my favorite restaurant by far. Don’t let it being in a mall food court fool you, the fried rice is perfect, the meat is perfect, and one $14 order can easily be split into two meals. The customer service is also phenomenal. Even if I’m having a horrible day, the woman who usually works the front always makes me smile.“

“My husband and I ate here this weekend for our first anniversary on our weekend trip to Asheville. We are both sushi lovers and have frequented many sushi spots around our home in Charlotte, my hometown in Florida, and most places we have traveled - this sushi is by far the best sushi we have every had. The sashimi and nigiri tasted like the fish had just been caught and the rolls were also incredible. We also got the bao buns and boom boom shrimp, and both were delicious. Our server was also very kind and attentive and made it a wonderful experience for us. We highly recommend!!!“

My concern is the cleanliness of the restaurant itself. Definitely need to work on wiping down the walls and trash cans covered in fat and leftover foods. The dirtiness kinda makes it cheap looking.“
