“On a beach trip from Raleigh, my friends and I will never miss a YUMMY trip to SUB TROPICS. And there are many! It is conveniently located at the beach on the main road, Ford Macon Road en route to the Circle and other Atlantic Beach public shorelines. Beachgoers can shop local and stop in for something refreshing and will love colorful Sub Tropics - a sandwich, wrap and smoothie spot that's located in the heart of Atlantic Beach, just off the Atlantic Beach Causeway. I love what one review on google said, "cheerful customization from the chief, Charles." I also added a pic of some dolphins we saw. Be kind to the animals tho and be sure pick up all of your trash while at the beach. Stop in to SUB TROPICS for a treat on your next beach vacay.”

“Can't say enough about how wonderful Full Moon Oyster Bar is! Even after us getting there early and seated quickly they still sold out of our usual favorite starters (lobster deviled eggs and crab stuffed mushrooms) but the bacon wrapped scallops and seared tuna did not disappoint. Jake mastered my extra dirty martini to Brittany Spears and beyond Courtney Love levels while server Josh (with a Cabernet Sauvignon wine namesake) cheerfully and attentively took our orders. A member of our party even successfully completed the 6 Oyster Challenge earning a shirt. The drinks were on point, the beer was cold, the food was excellent and the staff was engaging and amazing. I'm hesitant to leave such an excellent review knowing my faves might continue to sell out for my next visit, but this experience is too good to keep secret! Thank you for a very fun experience! “This is hands down the best bar on the beach, in my opinion. Janice, the Owner, has done an incredible job over the years, and it truly shows to this day. Perfect place to relax, enjoy a drink, soak in the amazing view and atmosphere—or even take a peaceful walk on the beach. Highly recommend!”

“Best pizza around we come quiet often during the summer season and have never been disappointed. If you have leftovers put it in the oven at 275 degrees for a couple minutes and its just as good as when you bought it the night before.”

“This is an addition to a previous review from a year or so ago. I now live in the area, and have found that the service and food is just as good as when I was in AB as a visitor. It is winter-time yet the food is still top notch and the service outstanding. My mother loves the Three-C chowder which is chunky, creamy, and chock full of seafood (I had to get in my 3-Cs!). The shrimp dinner has an ample portion of shrimp and the sides are a nice addition. Burgers are cooked as you ask, and tater tots make it an awesome meal. The wait staff in here are incredibly friendly, efficient, and personable. I still highly recommend On the Rocks as the food is delicious and reasonably priced, and the service is impecable. These ladies are awesome! For a great place to eat during the winter as well as the busy season, I will continue to go to On the Rocks.”

The calzones are easily 2 meals or can be shared. The crust is light & crispy & the ricotta-to-mozzarella ratio perfect. They have a delicious lemoncello mascarpone cake that is a nice balance of sweet & tangy.”
