“Decent local independent coffee roaster that resells its beans in various locations. They do a decent job making drinks at the Open Eye Cafe, which is the retail location for the roasters. It's a pretty busy place, but they manage to take care of customers pretty quickly.“
“I used to eat at the restaurant that was in this location constantly and was sad when it closed. I finally decided to give Grata a try and I'm so glad I did. The food is delicious! I ordered the Belgian Waffle platter. I would recomend this place to my friends and family and will be eating here again.“
“I love coming here to study and hang out. I’ve tried several of their bakery items (no bake cookie, molasses cookie, biscotti) and have really liked them! I think perhaps some of the “unfriendly” baristas are just introverts. Nothing wrong with that! I love their teas and coffee. ❤️“
“It is one of my favorite breakfast restaurants. They offer farm-fresh ingredients and fabulous breakfast cocktails. Always a treat!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options or your order can come made to order.Kid-friendliness: Best pancakes for kids!“
“this was my first time coming to the chapel hill location & i was pleased. environment was nice, relaxing & clean. very fast & accurate service. nick was my server & he was very nice & patient with my indecisiveness lol. i came jus in time to try their new shrimp n grits on the menu; which was very good! id give it a 8/10 ; the onions kinda had a weird taste to me, but nothing overpowering.“
“Fantastic Indian food, among the best in Durham. We’ve eaten here several times, dishes are distinct with fresh flavors, not too much reliance on ghee. Staff is friendly and helpful. It’s clean and well lit for eating in but really designed more as a takeout, fast casual atmosphere. It’s our new go-to Indian takeout place in west Durham.“
“I got a snack size smoothie bowl and it was delicious! Love that they have options for sizes. Food is on the pricier side but pretty typical prices for this type of food. Would definitely go back.Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options!Dietary restrictions: They have vegan options!“
“What a wonderful place to visit! It's extremely easy to book a reservation online for your group. While you're not allowed to pick up the cats there are plenty of toys available to play with them. Their names and pictures are posted on the upper floor and whether or not they are pending adoption. I booked an hour for my group and it was great.“
“Order the Tigerz Woodz!! I repeat, ORDER THE TIGERZ WOODZ!!!! The most incredible Arnold Palmer you’ll ever have in your life. My dad has been ordering nothing but Arnie palmers when he goes out for the past 20+ years and he claimed this is the best one he’s ever had. The mango pie drink was also absolutely exquisite ?“
“Omg, best country breakfast ever! Very low key place with homemade everything. I had the Grits bowl with eggs, black beans, and salsa over yellow grits, otherwise known as polenta. Yum! Big slab of homemade country sausage, double yum! Hubby had the herb biscuit with eggs and country sausage. The biscuits are HUGE, soft, and flaky. Delish! We bought a bag of 4 for $6 to take home for another day. I'd love to go back and try their lunch menu-also looked good. The restaurant is humble and homey. Tip- You order inside at the counter, pay at the register, and then they bring your order to your table. Plenty of parking and a large outdoor patio for those with their furry friends. Highly recommend!“
“Probably the loveliest of lovely places to hang out in all of the triangle; one of the few outdoor hangouts left after Honeysuckle closed! Conveniently nestled between E Franklin St and the trees off the Bolin Creek trail, this is just the perfect location with the perfect amount of shade and nature vibes - perfect place to read a book, catch up with a friend, have a first date, or get some work done in calming environs- highly popular for this reason. In the winter they have blankets and heaters, and during the summer they have bug spray out and the shade helps buffer the heat - be aware there will be plenty of bugs/critters, but it goes with the lovely outdoor NC experience! The internet has gotten much better over the years and you can definitely access the WiFi now without issues (was not the case a few years ago). There are only maybe 1-2 plugs on the premises, though best to charge up before you come. Drinks are delicious with plenty of coffee, tea, non-caf options - my favorites are the brown sugar oat latte and the ginger beer cold brew. Service is good with sweet and helpful baristas - there is always a line here but it goes decently quickly. The only thing I wish I could change would be longer hours so you could spend even more time here early AM - later afternoon/evening!“
“Such a cute coffee shop on Franklin Street! There's a lot of space inside to do work or chat with friends. I got a lavender iced latte, which I thought tasted great. It's also the same price for any size drink! The barista was also very nice and helped me pick out coffee beans.“
“The food and service is great! They had several very delicious vegetarian options available. The owner was friendly and the food was ready quite fast.It was a nice place to set up and work on my laptop for awhile. There is free Wi-Fi available.“
“Ran out of BOBA. A dirty tiger W/o boba is gross. They have a long booth of seats so you are sitting right beside people at the next table. No privacy.Parking: Street very busy. May need several loops to get a parking place, that you must pay for.“
“I've written comments before that no one read. I get responses like, "So glad you love Clean Juice....." You're NOT listening, so I don't expect a response or any kind of acknowledgement. Being a Christian & trying to support a Christian company, I would expect more than a pat on the head when I write a response.I've ordered the Chocolate One in 4 different locations. It has changed. One was so bad, I couldn't finish it. What has changed? Please read your responses or don't ask.Julie Dean Hickory, NC“
“Matcha and lattes are quite watery. Fills up real tight on weekends. Book selection is very social-justice oriented, hard to find science, business or modern psych books. Even bestselling fiction books like "Lessons in Chemistry" don't make their shelves. Churos were stale last time I had them.“
“I ordered a take out order for someone celebrating a holiday away from home, and they really went the extra mile!! They wrote a special note on the box, and gave them a mini cake to celebrate! I truly love this place, we always get the corned beef hash and their caramel iced coffee and it’s scrumptious. Thank you Carolina Coffee Shop!“
“Great spot for grad students to grab a quick sip before class. I really love the vegan food items - they don't heat them up for you, but there is a microwave in the cafe for you to do that yourself. My favorite part is that that they don't charge extra for alternative milks!! Seating is sparse since it's a small cafe, but I like to grab my coffee and find a spot in the health sciences library to enjoy my cup.“
“My hungry crew hit this place after doing the Tar Heel 10 Miler. The place was packed but they did a great job of moving people through the line. We did find out after we were almost to the register that we could have ordered from our phones at the table. I ordered the grits bowl. It was phenomenal -- creamy grits, tons of cheese and a good portion of eggs. Son loved his farm plate and polished off half his girlfriend's wrap as well. Girlfriend did not like her Bombay Lassi smoothie but I tasted it and thought it was great. Not too sweet with a mango flavor. I am not a coffee drinker but am a fountain soda fan so was glad they had fountain soda. Loved all the outdoor space on the porch to eat. Will definitely be back when in the area again.“
“Nice strong' ☕️ in a real ceramic cup. Great library lgbtqi++, people of color, etc. Educational materials to help teach children about white oppression. Me being an old Caucasian male, got the eye from the occupants. Still I escaped with no resistance ;).Parking: Parking is difficult anywhere in Chapel Hill. Electric scooters preferred,,.“
“I used the Honeysuckle Tea House to host a bridal shower for my sister and was beyond impressed! Justin and his team were so kind and took care of set up and break down. The food was fresh and delicious with incorporated heirloom ingredients grown on the property. Staff made planning and booking the event so easy with everything done virtually and over the phone. Don’t miss out on using this beautiful event space for your next event!“
“I love Saladelia. I come before I work night shifts, and Elizabeth who works at the front is incredibly kind and hardworking. She gives the best customer service and food recommendations. Will keep coming back as long as she is working there. All front of house staff are extremely patient and kind with other customers too. Management could be nicer to employees. I've worked in restaurants before and I see the moments of disrespect. Whoever is working FOH should be making well over $15 AND tips should be shared among staff. Minus one star for this. As busy as they are we all know cost of living has increased and employees pay needs to reflect that.“
“This is a nice place to relax for a cup of coffee. Didn't eat there but I was surprised by the many menu options. We went on a Sunday afternoon noon and it was pretty crowded inside but plenty of seating outside. They had a live bluegrass jam going on outside.“
