“Visited for the first time tonight and we will definitely be back. Right off the bat, the employees were friendly, professional, and accommodating. Our water glasses stayed full and our cocktails were delicious. The food was phenomenal—appetizer, entrées, and dessert. The presentation was lovely and the taste was divine. The Whipped Feta & Fig Crostinis were a surprise hit! My husband thoroughly enjoyed the Red Cream Paneer Curry and I couldn’t get enough of the Tagliatelle Pasta Alfredo with Wild Mushrooms and Shiitake Bacon. The ice cream sundae was great, too! It was my first time tasting non-dairy ice cream that actually tastes good! Given the quality and care taken to provide vegan food that is THIS tasty, I think the pricing is fair, especially when compared to other local cafés/bistros/restaurants in the area. Honeysuckle Tea House went above and beyond in accommodating our scheme, our many, many dietary restrictions, the short-time frame, and all the warmth we would require to make the wedding everything we dreamt of. “The Bean Flower is hands down the best boba shop in the triangle, and I love putting money in the pocket for a born and bred Durham biz owner- a real person not a corporation. CC and her team worked really hard on this menu, and it shows. The specials are really unique and delicious (chai nog, corn milk, and the malted orange hot chocolate have been standouts). But the main reason I go is for the chai. It's really authentic, sweet, spicy, and delicious.

I can tell that CC and her team are genuinely community driven and I'm so glad we have this spot in Durham.“

“The Sweet Tea Cafe is truly one of a kind.

The guy who runs it is awesome - genuinely super cool, and passionate about what he does. And the tea? Hands down the best I’ve ever had.

If you’re looking for somewhere unique with great vibes to take someone in Durham, this is absolutely the place - especially when the weather is beautiful and you can just hang out and relax.

My boyfriend and I jokingly call it the “forbidden” tea shop because it always seems to be open on days I’m working 😂 but whenever I get a day off, it feels like a little treat.

“On the night of the UNC-Duke game, February 7th, this Starbucks on Franklin Street showed my family a kindness I will never forget. My husband became separated from us in the post-game crowds. I tracked him via Find My iPhone and found him through the window — hunched over, his blood sugar dangerously low. The staff had already noticed he didn't look right, let him in, and given him water before I even arrived. The employee at the door let me in immediately when I explained who he was. While I went back out into the chaos to find our daughter, the team kept watch.
They were handling one of the most intense nights Franklin Street sees all year — thousands of people flooding the street after a big UNC win — and yet they were calm, warm, and genuinely caring. They may not have realized how serious his situation could have become, but their instinct to look after a stranger made all the difference.
These are exactly the kind of people you hope to encounter when things go sideways. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. 🙏“

“I’ve been consistently coming to this cafe since my sophomore year, and highly recommend the place to anyone who wants a caffeine boost around campus.

My personal favorite drinks are either Thai Iced Tea or Iced Vietnamese Coffee. Both cost around $5.

In addition to coffee, there is a lot of food sold, ranging from a chicken caesar salad to red velvet cake squares. The food rotates throughout the semester.

Scott runs the place and he is a fun person to talk to. He is energetic and is clearly passionate about running this cafe.

They just don’t let you down. You may encounter self-absorbed customers who mar you experience, but Starbucks is good at mediating even that. Use their phone app and cut the people frustrations. I always go out of my way to go to Starbucks they always have a consistent cuppa coffee it's hot on point and the staff is always very courteous the added bonus is now I have the Starbucks app so I can have my coffee waiting for me when I walk in thank you Staff are always wonderful and friendly~ Peppermint Mocha is amazing~ Great coffee and a fast drive thru Stuff is close and convienunt Didn't have to travel very far to grocery store or for fast food also walgreens auto part stores This Starbucks location is converted Schlottzky's Deli, and it has quite a bit of room. I met with my classmates to go over a presentation and we stayed for hours until they closed and they gave us each (6) cakes because we were studying and working so long. “I am a student at UNC-Chapel Hill and I come to the Starbucks at East Gate every single day, if not twice a day, to study. I am a coffee addict and switch up my Starbucks purchase every day. I purchased a white chocolate mocha that tasted like a hot coffee with frothed milk. I spoke with Whitney who was super friendly and immediately remade my drink.
