The bagels were really good, fresh and soft! the strawberry cream cheese was delicious and the turkey sausage was flavorful, the staff was efficient and friendly they were pretty busy but the wait wasn't too bad. The waiting and ordering are is extremely small and quickly becomes overcrowded I would suggest ordering ahead and picking up. I would stop in here again.
A Chapel Hill staple!! I first tried Brandwein's at a campus event they catered. Super community-oriented establishment I have the utmost respect for.
Brandwein’s is one of my favorite spots in Chapel Hill! It has a relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, great bagels, and a generous community spirit. I’m so glad it exists!

Customers praise the bagels as some of the best in the area, with many favorites including the onion bagel with egg & cheese, and the challah bread, which is highly recommended. Parking is easy if arriving early, with a small lot in the back and street parking out front. The place is kid-friendly, offering stickers for children, and is open early, though it sometimes closes early too. During busy weekends, lines move quickly thanks to well-trained and positive staff. Many visitors find the bagels as good as, or better than, many places in New York, making it a top breakfast spot in Chapel Hill.
