The pulled pork was good, not great. The service was quick and friendly enough. They were out of my first choices of sides, but my second choices—stew and collard greens—were pretty good. The price was very reasonable for decent barbecue at an airport. The seating area is crowded, but I found a spot. Overall, I would eat here again.
Okay. I ate it. That’s the reason for the two stars. I never expected anyone to be roasting hogs in a smoker at the airport. But honestly this food could have been done much better. Understand, the food doesn’t taste bad. It’s the textures. What’s appalling to me is the fact that this business plays off of North Carolina’s reputation for barbecue. Not one smile from a server, the servers appearing as though they hate it there, the turkey and ribs were sooo dry even the fried okra was dry. I should’ve checked the reviews before buying a platter to eat while sitting for a two hour layover ! & before anyone says anything, YES, I ate less than a quarter of it and threw it out.It was just not good.
