Nice restaurant. I met my parents for lunch at the Golden Owl Tavern on UNCC’s campus yesterday (who met each other as students at UNCC in 1971 and graduated from UNCC in 1974 and 75). Anyway, very nice, clean place, service was very slow for us to be the only people there other than another lady dining by herself. I think they could have had more on their lunch menu. My food was just ok. Our waiter was nice, not to mention very nice looking.Parking: Free valet
I made a reservation since there was an weekend event at the hotel and it could be crowded. It seemed like they were not fully staffed. As we waited to be spoken to and seated despite having made a reservation. Our waiter was kind and provided menus and water. We placed our order and it seemed to take much longer than we would expect for pancakes, omelette and breakfast sandwich. I have been here a couple of times and I will say the staff has been great every time. The food for the most part is good. This particular visit the pork was super salty and I ended up switching it out for the shrimp and grits. The shrimp and grits was good but i was disappointed because I was looking forward to that pork chop. The restaurant has a lovely vibe and being located in the hotel right off a light rail stop.
