“Great food and great service. Got there with a reservation and we were seated within about 5 minutes of our reservation time. It was pretty crowded but wasn't too much of a problem.

Food was really good, got some of the shareable plates for the two of us to share, the brussel sprouts were great and loved the short rib croquettes.

The cocktail menu was extensive and the ones we tried were very good.

Even though it was crowded didn't feel like we were crowded at the table. We were able to have a good conversation without feeling like we had to worry about others hearing us.

“I had an amazing experience at Substrates in Charlotte, North Carolina. I visited with my sister, and we were absolutely blown away by the ambiance and the selection of wines. The bartenders were incredibly knowledgeable and really took the time to recommend the perfect wine for us—unfortunately, I’m blanking on the name, but it was delightful! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a glass of wine. Highly recommend it!“

“The food, drinks and ambiance are SO good! Such a cool and unique spot in Charlotte. We loved everything we ordered. Our server was very kind, personable and knowledgeable. Service was a little slow, but it seems they are just short staffed…not enough to ruin the experience, just something to be aware of and plan for. Will definitely be back!“

“Not your normal game shop. Its more like quiet space for a date ( or maybe a double date) to sit and play games, drink wine, sip coffe and have great snacks. It caters to all ages, bring your own games, buy a new one or rent theirs. There were a few large tables for large games or dnd (and one in a private room. Its welcoming, with a solid selection of games and paints. My partner described it as game shop for folks that games are more intimate and personal. We had the gellato with a affragato and it was amazing... we will definitly go back, but make a reservation for a table, cause seating is limited on busy nights!“

Prices are reasonable, though you can purchase some more rare/expensive wines if that’s your thing. They have a large and varied selection of beer, as well.“

Lovely service from the two ladies at the park (one of them sings spontaneously…loved it) there was also a very knowledgeable man who assists with buying the wines. Very friendly. Our bread, meat and cheese combo was delicious. Atmosphere was perfect including Tupac on the soundtrack. I will for certain, return.“

“We held my daughter’s celebratory graduation dinner from UNCC at Barcelona Wine Bar this past weekend, and it was absolutely perfect! I planned the event far in advance with Tiana, their Sales & Events Manager, and she was thorough, communicative and handled it all like a pro, including a last minute change to the menu that she texted to me (smart). She arranged for printed menus with the event name (lovely detail!) and because they can’t include mussels, her favorite, on an event menu (understandable), they surprised us and sent her some anyway on the house. Our main server (I’m blanking on her name so sorry we love you so much!!) and our bar servers, Morgan and Justin (who we kept busy 🤣), should win personality of the year awards for their wit, humor, charm and skill (for instance, Morgan wowed us with his tapas plate stacking ability and made sure to holler in my Mama’s good ear when he spoke 🤣). It was great fun, and the food was DELISH!! Highly recommend for events and also looks like a fun place to just hang out!“

“My favorite for several years. I do not attend as often due to age and a diet restricting red meant. Nonetheless, the salmon, tuna, and sea bass are great choices. Also try their sauteed spinach as a side. I initially though I would be taking half of it home with --- the give a very generous portion --- but could not stop eating it until it was all gone. The chef has improved on the original version I recall --- but it was for the better! Capital Grill is always a great place for fine dining and great food.“

“We went to Dressler’s tonight for my husband’s Birthday. We had never been but wanted to try it since we loved their old Dogwood concept. Michelle was our waitress and truly made the evening so special. She was so knowledgeable around the menu and so attentive and fun. The food was exceptional. I had the waygu flank special and he had the 16oz ribeye. The shrimp appetizer was a great way to start and the apple crisp was a perfect ending to the meal. We were so excited to see the manager from the old Dogwood concept working there. She is so great too. Thank you for having such an amazing space that can make nights so memorable.“

“We hosted a leadership team gathering for my company in the loft and LOVED it. Two separate rooms up stairs were great for small groups to mingle and gather. Downstairs was great for people wanting to watch the game. And we had plenty of space on the large loft when we all came together.

“I stumbled upon Exotica at an India Food Festival in Charleston, SC. I’ve been on an Indian Food kick so I had to go see what this festival had to offer. Exotica had an impressive spread of food that was well displayed esthetically and from a food quality and safely standpoint. I’m a kitchen manager and caterer so that stands out and matters to me. They had the longest of a lot of long lines which told me it should be good. I was right. It was top notch. They far exceeded my expectations for the event. I didn’t know what most of the menu was so I looked everything up while I waited and made a list on my hand. My favorites of what I chose were the Samosa Chat, Onion Samosa and the Madurai Malli Dosa. Everything was amazing though. Sooo many flavors!! I’ll definitely be going to their restaurant the next time I’m near Charlotte. 10000% Now that I look at the full menu I see so much more that I need to try. Definitely a happy little accident finding this gem. 20/10 recommend :)“
