“Where do I even begin?!?! I have had the Speckled Pear on my list for a year now (I live in Virginia) and I FINALLY got a chance to give it a try. First impression: 1000% worth traveling over state lines for. I got the privilege of attending Saturday brunch and Saturday dinner. Both experiences had their differences and similarities and have me counting down the days until I go back. The menus both times were filled with many options of delicious foods. I did a little bit of everything while I was there and the truth is there are no wrong choices with what they offer! Now for my favorite part of my visit(s): The owners came out while we were eating and when we finished to check on how our service was and introduce themselves/say hello again. I LOVE that they do this. It added such a personal touch to this Family-Owned dining experience both in the morning at brunch and in the evening at dinner. The Speckled Pear was so lovely, and I appreciate all the dedication these owners have poured into their craft. I look forward to returning in the future.“

“My wife and I stopped here Friday night before dinner at a nearby restaurant. Friday and Saturday nights get very crowded but we were fortunate to grab 2 seats at the bar which is rather small. They specialize in MANY types of wine, craft beers and sangria. I’m had the Gailic Ale and an Oktoberfest, my wife had the red sangria. The atmosphere is that of a boutique book shop/winery. They offer a small selection of small bites that looked delicious. Very cool place . Prices were fair and we look forward to going back.“

“This was probably the best service that my wife and I have ever received from any restaurant that we have ever been to. I had an issue with the toughness of my steak in my penne pasta entree, and it was taken back with no problem at all. The manager came over and talked with me, which was a great gesture, to resolve the issue. We struck up a conversation that lasted at least 15 minutes. We were from out of town, visiting Charlotte for the first time and she really made our visit worth-while. I got the grilled honey chicken with the veggies instead and it was absolutely delicious! I think the managers name was Kristine, and the servers name was Savannah. They both were very thoughtful and kind and the restaurant was beautiful. Too often, people of different backgrounds and races are portrayed by the media as always at odds, politically, socially, and culturally but this visit just proves that we can all get along if we just take the time to get to know each other and hear each other out. This visit did more than just offer good food and service, but it also restored my hope in that people from different races and backgrounds are able to get along and love each other despite what society attempts to portray. “My daughter had her first prom this past weekend. I live out of state but I wanted to make sure her night was special. I spoke with Lynn Allen (general manager) she walked me thru buying a gift card and I was able to surprise my daughter and her date with dinner covered. Lynn (and the hostess I spoke with) were so friendly and helpful! My daughter said her dinner was amazing and can’t wait to visit again! So refreshing to have such friendly and professional staff to communicate with!“

“Definitely a special occasion spot. Their wine collection is exceptional, which is to be expected. I initially ordered a Bordeaux that I did not care for and we were able to order another bottle with no issues. My only complaint is we asked to keep the price comparable and they sent a $20 more expensive bottle. I ordered the filet and it was cooked perfectly. We were there for a birthday and they sent a complimentary champagne flute for all 9 of us in our party. Amazing. I like the interior of this location more than the others. But no exterior compares to the Dilworth location.“

We fell in love with this charming little pizza place as we entered. Your staff were all very nice and so helpful in helping us making our choices. So many unique options to choose from. “Wow!! Last night we had dinner and ordered several things. The buratta salad was to die for such a beautiful dish to look at an even better to eat. The spinach artichoke dip was the most unique I’ve ever tried. I got the wedge salad for an entree it was one of the best salads I’ve eaten out and my husband got his go to shrimp and grits. Your food was on point last night and I felt compelled to tell you. I love this place so much and so happy we have it with all the limited dining places nearby. Fantastic evening with you!“

“(This is Tim Burgess - Marlene's Husband).I was visiting NC from Arizona, last week. I was looking for a locally owned craft beer bar/bottle shop with great reviews while in town. I found the perfect place. I went in there twice last week and was greeted both times by Kit- The Owner. He made me feel very welcome. We talked about how important great service is and how he really makes a great effort to take care of his customers. I went there twice whilst in town. The atmosphere is very welcoming. I chatted with several patrons at Kit's and everyone was very very friendly. They have a great selection of bottles, cans, and beers on tap. (I bought several beers to carry out.) They also have a plethora of wines to choose from (though I did not partake).If I lived in the Charlotte area, I would definitely be a regular here. Thank you for a great time! One small dent in the service - I did ask for the plate to be picked up a couple of times (not our table's waiter, but to one passing by, and maybe that the issue) but she seemed a little bit - not overly - irritated. But again, no dent in the overall evening. It was a great time and I recommend anyone looking at this spot to try it out.“

“Kelly, our server was absolutely fantastic - The Best Server I have seen in any restaurant - 5 STAR Service - She did a wonderful job. However, the food quality was not up to par this evening. I had the Surf & Turf and the Lobster was overcooked. Another party had a Hamburger and was not satisfied with the quality & taste. The manager came over and took care of everything very professionally for which we very much appreciated his involvement. For that reason, we will come back to Firebirds in Stonecrest again.“
