“Found this place while looking for a new spot on a Sunday evening. The beer was great, and this is the only brewery or bar I’ve been to in the Charlotte area that has decent lighting. The staff were fantastic, so helpful and friendly and kind. Definitely recommend.“
“Stumptown has the best service in Matthews! I would like to give a shout out to Bernice, who took the the time to know me and what I like! They have an amazing staff whether it be your first time or if you are a regular. It is definitely a place to try while In Matthews.“
“Mary was out server. Also tended bar. She is the epitome of excellence in making the time I spent with my wife here memorable. Mary helped us in purchasing the additional 2 for $10.00 offers as well as assisting us with our choice of bar drinks and our side choices. You need to keep this person and use her to teach others how to be exceptional servers.“
“I recently tried both the traditional burger and the smash burger at this establishment, and I must say, both were exceptional. The traditional burger was simple yet delicious, prepared exactly to my liking and presented beautifully. Paired with a baked sweet potato, it was a delightful meal. The smash burger, served with CB7 sauce and grilled onions, was equally impressive. The presentation, appropriately wrapped in aluminum foil, added to the experience. I found it to be incredibly tasty, especially when paired with the sweet potato waffle fries. The service was top-notch, with super friendly staff who were helpful in guiding my choices. Overall, a fantastic dining experience that I would highly recommend.“
“Josh was awesome and provided the total experience with his professionalism and knowledge. We have been traveling to Charlotte for various events but have always failed to eat at this restaurant due to being too long of a wait. We made it a point to eat here this trip and was so glad to have Josh as our server. Great service!Vegetarian options: Just ask.“
“Went for a Friday date night and had a wonderful evening. We hit the jackpot with such a wonderful waiter, Tyler! Tyler was very professional, knowledgeable, tentative, and on cue. We were torn on what to choose, but Tyler came to the rescue and recommended entrees and a paired wine based on some of the options we had in mind. The pork chop and fish was amazing! Overall a wonderful evening thanks to our waiter and great dinner! Highly recommend for special events or just a nice date nightParking: Expect to pay $20 for parking, located attached to the restaurant. Not sure how much valet was, but we opted to park ourselves and walk to the restaurant. Deans does not validate so plan accordingly.“
“Really, really solid option especially during Savor. For $50/person, you get a three course meal. And these aren’t skimpy portions either like what some restaurants do during Queens Feast. These are proper, regular sized dishes.Every restaurant can choose how they want to approach Savor. I liked how 300 set up their menu with one old trustee option (current menu) and one new option for each course. Between my partner and I, we were able to try everything. Here’s our take:StartersBaked Goat Cheese (old trustee): I see why this is a fan favorite. The cheese is baked with good olive oil, sun dried tomatoes, and garlic. Comes with a baguette, but I preferred dipping my biscuit instead (more on that below).Biscuit Flight (new item): Comes with three biscuits!! As well as three savory dips that are made in house. The dips were okay but as aforementioned using the goat cheese like a spread was the move for me.MainsSesame Salmon (old trustee): I actually make a dish similar to this at home, so it didn’t blow my mind but my partner liked it well enough.Roasted Half Chicken (new item): Had a nice roasted, crispy skin. Came with a garlic jus gravy and veggies. If you are carbed out from the apps, this is a good option. Again, simple but good.DessertIce Cream Sandwich (old trustee): If I could handle my caffeine after 12pm, I would have definitely eaten more of this. The espresso ice cream paired so well with the maple oatmeal cookie. Glad to know it’s a regular on the menu so I can come back and get it for an early lunch.Cheesecake (new item): Get the ice cream sandwich.“
“Puerta was so good and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I had the sweet potato empanadas 10/10. I also had the queso dip which was an 8/10 I enjoyed. Lastly the Spivey margarita was super good and had the perfect amount of kick! I sat at the bar a genuinely enjoyed the service. I will definitely be returning.“
“Awesome atmosphere and polite service. For the large garden in the back with outdoor seating, and free parking, I would enjoy coming back here on a regular basis if I could. The white chocolate raspberry latte I had was very good, as were our lavender scones. Highly recommended!“
“The ambiance/vibe was very good here. Always seem to have live music going from 7-10pm. The bartender was incredibly kind and gracious. Not too pushy either, which is a plus. I got a Chilean cab and it was very good, but a tad pricey. Their arincini was very very good! Large serving size as well!“
“(10/8/23) I found myself in NODA for work and stopped in at Bar a Vins. It has a cozy, comfortable atmosphere. Harry was behind the bar. Harry is the resident sommelier and oenophile. He made a great suggestion for a non alcoholic wine. I was flabbergasted that such a thing existed. It was a riesling and it had a mineral finish. I paired it with a plate of smoked salmon with a verdant loaf, crème fresh and capers. It was light and filling.Bar a Vin has an extensive wine menu as well as a sheet of bites. I consider myself lucky to have been able to enjoy my time at this place. I will return.“
“A fantastic place to go for *any* type of meal - date nights, friends, wine tastings, social hours...a great destination for all purposes. The wine selection is deep and high quality at every price point, the menu has potential options for virtually every taste (don't be fooled that it's a page in total - the diversity is top notch), and the staff is well informed for all requests regardless of food or drink.A couple of things to catch:- While it's great inside as well, Foxcroft really shines from Spring through Fall, where the patio is a fantastic place to grab a bite or have a glass of wine.- The periodic tastings are a great opportunity for new fans of wine to learn about all aspects of the product, and introduce new options to long-time aficionados. Worth a try!- Just another shoutout to the staff. Quality folks.“
“We had a party of 5 at the Artisan’s Palette last night and had a fantastic experience. We were seated right away and, despite an extremely busy dining room, our server came to our table right away and had our drinks to the table before we knew it. The margarita, wines, and mocktails were all so delicious. Dinner was top notch. We started with the seasonal kalettes and followed with burrata salad (loved this), wine-poached pear salad, shrimp and artichoke salad, olive tapenade (a personal favorite), skillet spoonbread, butternut squash and curried pear soup (smooth and a little spicy), the NY strip and the lamb shank vindaloo. All amazing dishes. The chef visited our table at least three times and was delightful. You can tell that her heart and soul goes into this place and its dishes. We finished with a tour of the art gallery and the back garden area. I can’t wait to go back. THANK YOU, Artisan’s Palette!“
“Tasty sandwiches in a simple clean decor. Arbol sandwiches were well seasoned, used tasty ingredients AND good bread (a great sandwich of never complete without tasty bread no matter how good are the other ingredients). Arbol is a good destination for a tasty quick sandwich and a quick break from your busy day.“
“The steak that was suggested, the one with balsamic 15 years old, the meat was very good, but the balsamic was so overpowering that I could hardly taste the steak. Service was good as expected for price tag this high. atmosphere was good. Service were also very good but again for price tag this high that’s what I expect.“
“We went during the Savor Charlotte festival and got to try small versions of a lot of menu favorites plus some special items. The food was absolutely delicious. The calamari, lamb, and short rib were perfect. We were tucked in what felt like a back corner, which I think affected how attentive our server was, but it gave us a nice view of the Charlotte skyline.Parking: Free parking in the garage across the street, can get busy but there are always spaces available.“
“I ordered the meatballs for an appetizer which were a little too tough for my liking. Did not break apart easily. For my main dish I ordered the orecchiette which were phenomenal (cooked al dente). The crushed red pepper was extremely spicy, the server warned me but I thought I was tough. The ambience is intimate so I agree coming alone is not ideal but that doesn’t bother me.“
“The food was excellent. Several choices for wine and the pinot from Washington was a good one. Our server knew the wines and was able to explain their characteristics. The menu could be more expansive; however, there is still something for everyone.“
“The Bohemian: A Wine Bar was an experience within itself. The lightly decorated establishment had works of art displayed for sale, mixed matched furniture, a outside seating area with shelter so you're able to enjoy the fresh air and people watch but not be crucified by the sun. The staff spoke to us immediately as soon as we walked through the door. She was pleasant and polite. Served us quickly. There were several selections of wine for purchase on the wall, but not so many on the menu provided to us. There are some meats/cheese and flatbreads that can be purchased here. Pricing wise, this establishment is a little cheaper than most places when buying a glass. The wine was served warm but wasn't too bad at all if you knew your wines. Personally, The Bohemian wasn't all my favorite out of all the wine bars within Charlotte. I can't discredit them because of my opinion. However, you can't pass it up for location convenience and the affordable for a glass of wine or two.“
“This was such a great experience! When you walk in, the space is so open, and they have lots of seating inside and out. I luckily went on a day it was warmer, so I already knew I wanted to sit outside.I order the Cheesy-Toastie, Crispy Potatoes, and House Spritz. The spritz was so refreshing and smooth! I loved every second of it and recommended it to the woman next to me. My cheesy toastie was perfectly toasted, and this cheese perfectly melted. Every bite melted in my mouth. The crispy potatoes and the aioli were the perfect pairing for the day. Can’t wait to bring my friends back!Parking: There’s a lot with more parking in the back, next to the buildingKid-friendliness: Has larger tables inside for kids to sit with family“
“I went for the coconut cake and sadly they were out. I tried the peach handpie and the Korean Beef rolls and they were good....but the the the lemon bar was really good. I prefer a little more tart, but the flavor was excellent and the crust was old-fashioned delicious.“
“This wine boutique exceeded my expectations with its fine wines, exquisite cheeses, and phenomenal charcuterie.Speaking of the charcuterie, it's hands down the best I've found in Charlotte. I highly recommend MERE'S for anyone seeking a perfect spot for a date night or a casual evening with friends. The ambiance is warm and inviting, creating the ideal setting for a memorable outing.A unique feature that stood out to me is the option to reserve a charcuterie online for pick-up. I took advantage of this and enjoyed a delightful picnic at Freedom Park, just a mile away. It added an extra layer of convenience and charm to my experience.Beyond the delectable offerings, the team at MERE'S deserves a special mention. They are consistently kind and helpful, contributing to the overall positive atmosphere. If you're looking for a place that combines exceptional flavors with a welcoming ambiance, MERE'S is the perfect choice.“
“We got here early but it became PACKED and extremely loud pretty quickly. We sat outside and it was lovely but I was surprised at how loud it got outside. The food was all incredible and I would recommend anything in there is probably going to be amazing. We got the asparagus, shrimp, whipped sheep cheese, Brussels sprouts, chicken thigh (it is only 1), patatas bravas, and chocolate cake. The cake was flourless so it was more so almost a pudding and kind of disappointing (the only thing that was not very good). The Guns & Roses sangria was very yummy too but very strong! The service was subpar. Our server barely made their way over to us and there were multiple times throughout the night that I saw other tables serving themselves from the servers station because of how little they came by. If not for the poor service I would have given them higher stars.“
“This place is made for good people, friendly conversations, and premium wine. I know wine is what people may come here for- and trust me when I say that the wine is top shelf- but the owners make it a home. 100% a pleasure to even have a glass of wine with such an establishment.“
“If you are a wine lover like me, head over to The Wine Loft, located in the swanky Southend neighborhood of Charlotte! It's an excellent option for enjoying great wines! They have a selection of white, red and rose wines and the ambiance is perfect - cozy and laid back, with a touch of elegance. The staff was also helpful and attentive! They also have live music on the weekends, which adds to the great vibe! It's a great place to enjoy a variety of wines!“
“My husband and I found this place while walking around uptown, and we were so glad we did! The food here is amazing, everything I ate was delicious. All of the servers were very helpful in figuring out what certain things were on the menu. The butter chicken was delicious and the samosas were flavorful. We will be back!“
“Had dinner and drinks with some girlfriends here. Had the most kind and generous service by our server Nathan. He even went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of and gave us recommendations to his favorite spots in town. Will absolutely request Nathan in the future. Food and wine was incredible as well as the service. Thank you!!!“
“We lived near Grapes Bistro & Wine Bar for many years, but never visited until recently. I am kicking myself for not coming here sooner. We had a perfectly chilled bottle and split several appetizers with friends. The cranberry and goat cheese was excellent, as was the pimento cheese and marinated olives. We ended by splitting a mushroom flatbread. Our experience was nothing short of excellent.Parking: Lots of parking for the entire shopping area“
“Nice spot in the middle of little Mint Hill. Outside seating has heat and fans as needed. Because of the proximity to the road it can be a little loud but if you know that going in, it's not really a problem. We always bring our pup so we have never sat inside but it does have a nice vibe. Service is always good and food is good as well. A large selection of wine so I feel certain that you will find something you like.....Unless you don't drink wine;-)“
“The service was excellent starting with the fact we were running late and they still let us be seated when we arrived. Our server was very friendly and informative of different menu options. Food was great and portions were very good size. We will be back again!“
“I have eaten at the Tap and Vine twice in two weeks. The dining experience is above and beyond the dining experiences I've had at other restaurants recently. The food is absolutely delicious! Very fresh. We've tried a couple of bottles of wine that did not disappoint. The wait staff is on it! I can't wait to go back for more! It's nice to finally find an intimate setting to enjoy with family and friends.“
“We've been here a bunch and keep coming back. FOOD: All yum! Pay the extra $4 for fresh pasta. Apps: The Prosciutto and Burrata is a yum appetizer. We also like the little dish of beans that come with the complimentary bread. You get one complimentary refill of bread, then they charge you. Entrees: Our favorite dish is the Buttara. Amatriciana is another favorite of mine. Hubs also likes Penne Alla Vodka with Shrimp. My dad likes the Chicken Parmesan (note it doesn't come with pasta, thats another ~$9 for a side of (out of the box) pasta). There is no kids menu, they can sell you a "kids pasta" which is sauce and out of the box noodles. Drinks: Everything is good. Dessert: Save a few bucks by getting Duck Donuts next door or TCBY across the parking lot.“
“Really cute little place. The lady there was really friendly and tried to help me as much as she could. They didn't have what I was looking for but if your in the area you should stop in. I recommend it, at least they treat you with respect. See for yourselves. Just a little wine be careful and don't drink too much. I don't get drunk, I do as 1 Timothy says a little wine for your ailments and your stomach. Just being honest.“
“I don't know yow I didn't know this was right around the corner. Staff were knowledgeable and provided quick service. The atmosphere is chill and relaxing. Will definitely be back. New hangout activated.Parking: Free parking on the street; paid parking very close byWheelchair accessibility: Ramps at the front and rear entrances“
“Every single time we dine here we are treated so well. All the servers are very attentive and never seize to impress me how much they know about the cuisine. We are avid sushi eaters from the west coast. We know good sushi. Trust me when I say we savor every bite!“
“I cannot say enough great things about Cicchetti. The wine selection was amazing. Something for every budget. The menu was unique and interesting. The food was so delicious!!! Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Overall an amazing experience.“
“Nice place with good music and atmosphere, their cocktails were the best, we went here hoping tasting wine but that is only on Tuesday, we told the person assisting us we were here first time but we got very limited information however the bartender was around and she was super friendly and sharing information about the wine tasting days , we saw few reviews on Bellini cocktail and wanted to have it but came to know their menu changed and made us a version without slushy it was very good, for the next one we asked her to make one of her specials and she gave us a drink which was too good it was not in the menu. My wife also ordered the same drink and she told hers tasted even better with lime touch, she is the best. The food options were very limited but the way it was presented and quality is great . We ordered hummus plates and mushroom flatbread, we liked both, the food we ordered, the food menu also keeps changing here!!overall we had great experience and we will be back to the wine tasting someday.“
“Such a cute place! Friendly staff and customers. The flatbreads were very good. They have a decent wine selection you can get by the glass (they were on the drier side). Also, a few local beers on tap and a selection of chilled beer, room temp wine, and chilled wine available for purchase. We definitely will be back.“
