Ohhhh how I love her Sweet Pork Belly dumplings. They have the most delectable and delicate thin wrappers with copious amount of meat that is moist and packed with flavor. Each bite is an explosion of chilling oil, onion, and five spice which plays well with the sweet pork belly. Its cute and cooked so its not greasy or crispy but succulently moist. I also order the classic Dan Dan which isn't too spicey but has a nice kick. I came during dinner and received these huge portions....read full review

Based on the reviews, The Dumpling Lady at Optimist Hall serves the best dumplings in the country. The sweet pork belly dumplings are perfect, with delectable and delicate thin wrappers packed with flavor. The shrimp and chicken dumplings with chili oil are always good, and the roast pork belly is infinitely superior in flavor. The Dan Dan noodles and Chengdu Dumplings are also top choices. The dumplings are bathed in a chili oil sauce, and the chili crisp is good on eggs at home. The service is always great, though it can be a little slow with one person working the counter against a constant line of people. The owner goes above and beyond, and the counter staff are all very nice. The atmosphere at Optimist Hall is friendly and rustic. Portions are huge, great to share, and nothing feels skimped. The food is flavorful, hot, and fresh.
