“We went on Friday morning around 10. It was packed and people waiting in line. We only had to wait about 15 minutes. I figured service would be slow since every table was full. I was pleasantly surprised that the service was exceptional. The food was also exceptional. We had omelettes with home fries. The home fries were out of this world. Best place for breakfast I've ever been to. We are going back next week.“

“I walked in on a Friday evening, 6ish. There were empty tables but the maitre d
asked if I had a reservation. I took a seat at the bar. The initial service was kind of slow but once I ordered my food was ready very quickly. I had the Hemingway Chicken, yellow rice and moros, paired with the grapefruit lager it was excellent ??. I will return to try something else on the menu.“

“The country styled steak taste like a frozen piece o eat doesn’t taste the least bit like country styled steak the gravy tasted horrible. The green bean on my husband’s plate tasted like the can that they came out off. The fried okra tasted like it had been sitting awhile and cold. The only hot thing on my plate was the fried squash. Tour food wasn’t worth what we paid for it. I did notice that a lot of people left a lot of food on there plates uneaten. Will not be going back.“

“Oh, how I missed them, lol! Never disapoints! I haven't been here in a few years since we moved from Concord to Lexington but I was craving this the other day on the way home from work. They haven't missed a beat or slipped in quality. The taste of the pizza and wings are still amazing! I was never a garlic parmesean flavor wing eater until I had them from here! They have to be the best anywhere. There wings in general are top tier. I'm not a crust eater either but I am when I order from FB. The specials are awesome but you have to call or walk in to see them since they aren't all available on website. Just go visit, you won't be disappointed! And they are super friendly!“

“We enjoyed the pulled pork, hush puppies, slaw, a breakfast spread with eggs, bacon, potatoes hash, pancakes, and a hot dog - Carolina style. Restaurants was packed full on a Sunday at 10:30 AM. No wait, really friendly staff, clean area & restrooms. Sweet tea was on-point. Prices very reasonable. Eastern Carolina Vinegar BBQ 'Sauce' was delicious, with a sweet vinegar heat, perfectly balanced for the pulled pork.“

“Some of the cashier's have bad attitudes and the Hispanic waitress has a bad attitude she pick and choose who she wants to assist at the table and expects a tip I am big on tipping if the service and food is good. Some days you go and the food is delicious and some days the chicken is salty and dry and not to mention the fish.They need the old cooks and workers back that when the food was delicious. Y'all need to get it together Concord NC.“

“This was an awesome gem of a resturant hidden in the woods. Such an intriguing history of the place. I LOVED their seafood - flounder, shrimp, fried oysters and will definitely be going back again. It was also great to meet the owners and family members that are part of the history of this place and land. They hosted the group I was with (CAPS) and really showed that Southern hospitality to us all. Thanks guys!!!“

“Tried the Wild West Shrimp and Spicy Chicken Bites, both were flavorful and well-cooked. The Redrock Grilled Shrimp and fries were also great! However, the Texas Tonion was a bit too oily and lacked flavor. The service was great, and the atmosphere was enjoyable, making for a pleasant dining experience. Would definitely come back!“

“We love it here! Service is fast and friendly! We usually go for breakfast. The portions are HUGE so come hungry. Always yummy. The Livermush is extra crispy, the grits are the best we have ever had, perfect delicious texture, not soupy like some and the omelets are amazing.
Casual seat yourself and cool 50's atmosphere inside. We drive 30 minutes and it always worth it!!“

“I went for breakfast the other day. First time there and it was really good. The eggs were cooked to perfection. I usually don't order grits out because no one knows how to cook them, but they were cook perfectly. All the food tasted fresh and was hot. The waitress was attentive and friendly. I will be back. “I grew up in Salisbury and lived there well into my adulthood. I live in Columbia, SC now but when I come back to town to visit my Mom, one of my favorite places to eat is at Checkered Flag. They’re food is really good but the hard working ladies who serve the customers is what makes it great. They take the time to talk to every customer at every table and it’s not just chit chat. They really want to know how you are and what they can do for you to make your visit perfect. They treat everyone like family but for those of us who come back again and again, we become family. Even for me, an out of towner, I even know two of the hard working ladies, Angela and Jen. Angela showed her hard working team spirit yesterday when, Jen, our server, was tied up with her other tables. Angela stepped in and took our order until Jen could get back over to us. This example of teamwork becomes contagious and I’m sure that Jen has done the same thing for Angela and all of her co-workers. Jen is such a joy to be around. Her personality oozes charisma and warmth and she makes you feel truly special because that is who she is!! I heartily recommend Checkered Flag for their great food and and their even greater people!! I rate them 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and 5 hearts!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️“

“The small mom and pops places are absolutely the best handmade hamburger patties, homemade chili, fries are topped with a secret seasoning, no ketchup required, the atmosphere is like and old diner, clean, lots of seating either indoors or on the patio, it’s well worth the 30 minute drive from our house to Granite Quarry for the burgers, dogs, fries and the small town atmosphere“

“If you love Hap’s on Salisbury, NC, Brian is his brother and uses all the same recipes. Amazing burgers dogs and chili. Hap’s and Brian’s are an institution in the the Salisbury and China Grove areas.
