“This place is perfect - the atmosphere and employees make it 100 stars if I could. Went there for the first time and blown away by how friendly everyone there is, and I had kids running around and being indecisive but the staff kept smiles on their face and amazing attitude the entire time. The service alone makes us want to come back and we will probably start coming regularly!“

“Post-church we decided to have a late breakfast and drove out to Cagney’s in Granite Quarry. The restaurant focuses primarily on southern fare and we watched a lot of really good looking plates passing by us as we waited for our food. Our table enjoyed eggs prepared a variety of ways, shredded hash browns, cubed potatoes, grits, bacon, turkey sausage, regular sausage, biscuits, and wheat toast. Everything was really good and our waitress did a nice job. The dining area is comfortable, the menu is expansive and they have specials everyday. While we did not get desserts, they have a variety of cakes that looked amazing. Next time!“

“This is a very clean restaurant. I didn't like what I got, it had no flavor or taste. Very bland. I added salt and pepper and was able to finish it. People were nice. I ordered chicken on a stick, pork fried rice and egg fo yon gravy sauce. Absolutely no taste or flavor. I didn't care for the red on the chicken.“

“Our party of 4 ate at Mambo's Grill and Tapas in March after my daughter's engagement. It was a great dining experience with exceptional food, service, and atmosphere. I had the Cuban sandwich and it was big and loaded with meat on tasty artisan bread. We had several appetisiers, they were eaten rather quickly. I can't say enough about the proprietors wecoming us and the visually appealing restaurant. Salisbury has a gem there, and a memorable dining experience.“

“The country styled steak taste like a frozen piece o eat doesn’t taste the least bit like country styled steak the gravy tasted horrible. The green bean on my husband’s plate tasted like the can that they came out off. The fried okra tasted like it had been sitting awhile and cold. The only hot thing on my plate was the fried squash. Tour food wasn’t worth what we paid for it. I did notice that a lot of people left a lot of food on there plates uneaten. Will not be going back.“

“Brian’s Grill is one of those places that makes you feel like you’ve been coming there for years, even if it’s your first visit.

I ordered the cheeseburger “Brian’s way” with all the chili, cheese, onion, and wow—it was incredible. Freshly made, hot, messy in all the right ways, and absolutely worth every napkin. You can tell they take pride in what comes off that grill.

What really stood out, though, was the customer service. Friendly, personable, and genuinely welcoming. They made us feel like locals instead of just customers.

“Love the BBQ! Its a must get. Also tried their chili beans for the first time and it was awesome. Full of big red kidney beans and chock full of hamburger. Great chili flavor and a decent sized portion. Ordered a grilled cheese sandwich to go with it and it was the perfect meal for a cold night.
One thing to note: this is a very small restaurant and has very tight seating with permanently built in booths (9 I think???). They are not adjustable so if you're a larger person, be prepared to squeeeeeeze into the seats. There is ONE table with four chairs which I believe is for those with handicaps.
Second thing to note: the bathrooms are around the back of the building... outside.“

“I grew up in Salisbury and lived there well into my adulthood. I live in Columbia, SC now but when I come back to town to visit my Mom, one of my favorite places to eat is at Checkered Flag. They’re food is really good but the hard working ladies who serve the customers is what makes it great. They take the time to talk to every customer at every table and it’s not just chit chat. They really want to know how you are and what they can do for you to make your visit perfect. They treat everyone like family but for those of us who come back again and again, we become family. Even for me, an out of towner, I even know two of the hard working ladies, Angela and Jen. Angela showed her hard working team spirit yesterday when, Jen, our server, was tied up with her other tables. Angela stepped in and took our order until Jen could get back over to us. This example of teamwork becomes contagious and I’m sure that Jen has done the same thing for Angela and all of her co-workers. Jen is such a joy to be around. Her personality oozes charisma and warmth and she makes you feel truly special because that is who she is!! I heartily recommend Checkered Flag for their great food and and their even greater people!! I rate them 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and 5 hearts!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️“

“Don't be fooled by the nostalgic setting or decor- the food is great!!! There is a great variety of food to choose from including chicken and dumplings, hot dogs, burgers, baked chicken, fried flounder, chicken pot pie, and a great selection of vegetables and sides. There are also daily specials. Our waitress was very nice and offered suggestions for the meal. No complaints-- everything we ordered was tasty. We'll go back to try the breakfast which is served until 2 o'clock.“

“My name is Scott and I’ve been coming to Biscuitville in Salisbury NC on Jake Alexander Boulevard since I semi retired in August of 2023 every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. They have the best breakfast on the boulevard here by far. The food is awesome and my order is always exactly as I ordered it. I always go thru the drive thru and eat in the parking lot and watch the traffic go by. Now this may sound boring but you never know what you may see here in Salisbury. At times they may be a little short handed with the staff but I’m always greeted with a smile. I would like to give the manager Gabe and his staff here a huge SHOUTOUT!!!
