The first thing I thought of when I began to eat was the things missing were some lawn chairs, people throwing horse shoes, and the sound of the kids playing in the creek trying to catch crawdads. Excellent bbq with just a hint of some heat, sweet coleslaw, and potato salad my grandmother would be proud to serve. Young man at the counter was presentable and courteous. Good food and the staff were very attentive, Jeff specifically was all over the dining area ready to offer service. They misheard my order, but were happy to bring me what I originally asked for when the wrong plate came out.

I have not eaten at a Smithfield's restaurant in 20 years because they are only in NC. This visit didn't disappoint, the staff was beyond inviting and friendly they make you feel like family. TRUE SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY! The food was as good as I recall, made me want to visit NC more often, the vinegar based BBQ was delicious. sides were great also. Restaurant was clean as a whistle.
