8 Best Mexican Restaurants in Denver

“My wife and I recently decided to give this new Mexican restaurant a try, and I have to say, we were pleasantly surprised! In fact, we’ve already been back three times, which should tell you something!

Now, let’s set expectations. This isn’t fine dining, nor is it trying to be. And frankly, judging a casual Mexican restaurant by white-tablecloth standards would be missing the point entirely. Sometimes you just want good food, generous portions, friendly people, and a place that delivers exactly what you came for.

Well, let me tell you, this Mexican restaurant SLAPS!

The portions are generous, the staff is genuinely friendly, your drink glass never seems to reach empty, and the chips just keep coming! What’s not to love?

One thing that really stood out to us was the flour tortillas. I can’t say for certain they’re made in-house, but they sure taste like it! They have that wonderful chew, fresh flavor, and texture that make you want to order a few extra just because.

My wife and I have absolutely loved every chicken dish we’ve tried so far. And after three visits, we’ve had a pretty good opportunity to explore the menu! The pictures I’m sharing are just from one of those visits.

Now, in the interest of keeping things fair, I’ll mention that I haven’t been quite as enthusiastic about some of the seasoning on the steak dishes. Something about the flavor profile just doesn’t quite hit the mark for me. But that’s entirely personal preference, and it certainly hasn’t stopped us from coming back!

The cheese dip is exactly what you want it to be, the salsa is tasty, the chips are plentiful, and the overall experience is just plain enjoyable.

Not every restaurant needs to reinvent the wheel or deliver some elaborate culinary masterpiece. Sometimes a place simply needs to do what it does, do it well, and make you want to return.

And this place absolutely delivers!

“The food was flavorful and well priced. I had 2 enchiladas- 1 chicken & 1 steak. Came with rice & beans. Well seasoned. Strawberry margaritas were on special for $3! Steak quesadillas had onions, mushrooms & beans in it. Very flavorful. Came with lettuce & guac. We will definitely be back. Great value for the money. Staff was super nice too.“

“Got al pastor, asada, and birria tacos. If you’re looking for authentic tacos, this is it. The store inside is also well stocked. Tortillas were great, good amount of cilantro and onion, we got a lime wedge for like each taco and the salsas were delicious. Would highly recommend if you’re in the denver area!! We paid $36 for 9 tacos. I know the truck looks a little sus but trust me they know what’s up.“

“I just moved here after living in Dallas, TX for the last 2 years and have been looking for some good tacos. Dallas is home to some of the best authentic mexican food you can get. I’m a fiend for food trucks and I almost always read reviews of places before I buy. After reading the 1 star review I was a little skeptical, but still got it anyways cause a man has gotta eat. I paid $19 for a steak quesadilla and 2 steak tacos and I really enjoyed them both. The quesadilla was a little greasy, but that is expected and nothing some good ole napkins couldn’t fix. They both came with very good green/red sauces and were garnished with limes, cilantro, onions, radishes, etc. I personally preferred the tacos over the quesadilla, but they were still both very good. Food like this is hard to find, I would recommend this place and I will probably be back the next time I get the craving. Cheers“
