Pizzeria Toro Reviews
Had dinner this evening with my daughter that is attending Duke. The meal was delicious and the service was amazing. We sat at the bar, the other side of the restaurant was loud. There was no wait at the bar and we were able to enjoy each other with conversation.

Pizzeria Toro provides a lively dining atmosphere with friendly and attentive staff. The menu features creative and luxurious pizzas, including the fried eggplant pizza and the mushroom white pizza, both praised for their excellent taste. The crust may be slightly burnt, which is expected with wood-fired pizza, and the restaurant can be crowded and loud on weekends, making seating and waiting a challenge. The staff, while not overly friendly, ensures orders are correct and water glasses are refilled. The restroom is kept very clean, reflecting good management. Visitors can enjoy seasonal items like the sweet fennel sausage pizza and start with dishes such as Meyer lemon ricotta crostini. Drinks like the Aperol margarita and flavorful chili oil add to the experience. Despite some drawbacks, many find the pizza authentic and similar to what is enjoyed in Italy, making it a popular spot for outings before shows at DPAC or Carolina Theatre. The included 20% tip is considered well-deserved given the busy environment and hardworking staff. Overall, it is a highly recommended place for friends and visitors looking for great pizza in a vibrant setting.
