As a native New Yorker, there are some things that I have come to understand that I just won't get again (on a consistent basis) now that I am in Charlotte. Good bagels, for one. Good pizza. And good sub sandwiches. Sure, Publix does a nice job but let's be real, it ain't exactly what I'm used to getting. And don't even bring up Jimmy John's or whatever. The food is completely outstanding but the payment machine at the counter for takeout, where you walk up and order, is one of those deals where you are shamed into leaving a tip and the no tip option is very difficult to find, very tiny print. I'm so over that. I won't be back for that reason. This is getting ridiculous. I tip waitresses big but ordering at the counter? Please just charge me $20 for my excellent sandwich instead of $17 and save us all this grief.
