Chef was friendly and put on a show but minimal interaction until the end. Food was delicious. Best hibachi I've had in awhile. I'm in southeast Virginia and we don't have any really good spots. Family in south Carolina and they have good hibachi. I visit Jacksonville semi-regularly and expect to be back again if the timing is right.”

“When we want steak in Jacksonville, we come to LongHorn.
Last night, my partner and I came for dinner. For a Sunday night, it was busy, but we were seated almost immediately. Our server, Liz, was incredibly sweet and attentive throughout our meal. When we told her we both had allergies, she immediately made a note and said "thank you for telling me". Before our food came out, the manager Rick came over to confirm the specifics of my partner's allergy before he allowed anything to come to the table, as there was more risk to his with what we ordered. The porterhouse was perfectly cooked, and everything was absolutely delicious. The portions were fantastic, and we both had to take to go boxes.

We have always had incredible experiences here, from the wait staff, the food, and management. They go above and beyond for their customers, and we will happily come back.

They take the allergy seriously. They change gloves, are careful on cross contamination, and pack food separately. Thank you Smithfield’s!”

We waited for our food for an hour and still hadn’t gotten any response on when it would be done (they supposedly never even dropped the wings) until my husband asked for the manager. “I've been here multiple times. I highly recommend their specialty rolls that have tempura and/or spicy tuna. The Lychee Sake and Mango Moscato is to die for. For a light beer, try the Sapporo. I came here before my pregnancy, during my pregnancy, and after - I had gestational diabetes and my blood sugar levels stayed pretty stable when I came here (though, mind the tempura and mochi LOL)

Some of the best Salmon and Tuna sashimi in Jacksonville, too. Anyone can eat here. I cannot speak highly enough about Wasabi.

“So I’ve had my eye on Blend as I drive by for a while now. Well a couple days ago I happen to be in town and I was craving hazelnut so I decided it was time to check them out. The main attraction for me was the opportunity to sit outside on the waterfront and enjoy a nice drink. I met the lady working the counter and told her I was craving hazelnut and thought I would like a frappe, she asked if I wanted cream and I wasn’t sure then she said yea you do and I said okay. She immediately made me feel welcome and she was very friendly. She made my drink and as I tasted it she was genuinely concerned whether I would like it or not. After a few seconds the flavor hit my mouth and it was fabulous, I loved it. And to top that off I went outside as I drank my frappe and enjoyed the waterfront. As I was leaving the lady at the counter asked me to please come again and I said absolutely. Great coffee, great environment and great experience what more could we ask for. Good job and thank you, I will be back.”

The Kettle Diner is a NY style diner with southern flair that's well-established eatery in Jacksonville, NC, has garnered a reputation for its home-cooked meals & diverse menu offerings. This is the first time I have gotten a burger from here after being in this area for 20 years. The burger of choice was the Master Burger. This is a Half-pound of fresh ground beef cooked to order; Served with cheddar cheese, lettuce & tomato on a toasted brioche bun. The flavor profile of the burger is robust and satisfying & embodies everything that a local spot should be. The beef patty is seasoned well and grilled to perfection, resulting in a savory taste that pairs beautifully with the fresh toppings. When combined with the right condiments ( I chose just mustard), each bite delivers a delightful burst of flavor that keeps your taste buds wanting more. We got the bangin shrimp plate, fried ocra, a BBQ sandwich, the dinner special they had going on (I believe hamburger steak), Mac n cheese and hush puppies. The bangin shrimp was so good that we are going back in another day for our anniversary. All of the food was amazing to the point we’ve invited our family to drive 3 hours here to visit us and eat here so they can see just how GOOD this food is. That fried ocra is the best you’ll ever have and the BBQ sandwich was so good! Oh we also got the BBQ nachos and my goodness, my pregnant self was so happy with those as well. If you haven’t given them another shot since the food truck, you are truly missing out! They are officially our new go to. Thank you for amazing food!”

TLDR: Food quality has improved drastically and temperature and the environment is nice compared to the last few years. Give it another shot if you stopped coming around 1-2 years ago. It has changed!

I have been going here with my family for years. It was good up until COVID and then they had a bit of a rough patch where it was hot, the food quality was passable and it was not a pleasant experience. We stopped coming around a year or two ago and have only now decided they were with another try and can I say, there has been much improvement.

The temperature is. Nice in the building now and not hot. The servers are attentive and polite. The food quality has gone up substantially, the food tastes fresh and no longer feels like it has been sitting out all day. Can I just mention their slices of cake? They. Are. Delicious... Before they were not that good and dry, and I honestly would come just for the cake slices now.

I know I talked about the heat, but a few years ago, it smelt like sewage and was muggy. The floors were damp and it felt like your shoes stuck Everytime you stepped. It seems they have foxes their drain issues as the floors are nice and it no longer stinks! They also have an incense mister at the front, which is a nice touch.

Sadly, there is no longer bread and the sodas now come in a can, but to be honest, I am fine with that change as everything else has improved so drastically.

If you stopped coming during their rough times in the past few years, give them another shot and be amazed!”
