“Gourmet China is one of my favorite Chinese places in Greensboro -- love the soup dumplings, dang dang noodles, Singapore noodles, lo mein... guess I just like their noodles? But here's the best thing about Gourmet China: THEY ARE OPEN ON MONDAYS! All of my other favorite Asian places are closed Mondays. So if you have a hankering for Asian noods on a Monday, Gourmet China has you covered.“

I bought the approx $11 10 piece butterfly shrimp with fried rice and hot oil.

Rice tastes fairly bland in my opinion, but I like food extra seasoned to take that into consideration.

Hot oil tastes quite underwhelming, but it makes the much rice better so I get it. The butterfly shrimp is fantastic. I also heard good things about their donuts and rolls.

Portion size is very good for the price. Overall I would recommend if you want a cheaper way to eat a lot of food.“

“Chu's in Eastchester in High Point makes the BEST hot and sour soup. They are the only place that puts chicken in it. That makes a huge difference. Their noodles are better than anyone else's also. The chicken wings are top notch also, so much flavor.“

“This restaurant used to be our favorite. Since the new owners came, everything has gone down hill. The egg rolls are smaller and filled with more rice than anything else. The fried rice is just tan rice with nothing else added. Any dish that is served with vegetables, now expect the veggies to be served raw - uncooked with a sauce over them. The thinly sliced chicken has a lot of fat and gristle. Even the hot tea (overpriced) has a different taste. The last 2 times I ordered the Egg Fu Yung - I was really sick afterwards. If I ever go back I will just order noodle soup with no vegetables or chicken. The waitresses are very nice but I worry about what goes on in the kitchen. Their sanitary rating is low so the kitchen can't be too clean. There are other Chinese restaurants in the area that we will be trying.“

Definitely a takeout-focused spot with a big menu and strong North Chinese food vibes. Tastes like classic Boston and New York–style Chinese, which is hard to find. Everything was really good, portions were filling, and the value was excellent. In Boston, they may be an average spot but down south, this is great.

“My other go to Chinese restaurants when my favorite one, China City on National Highway is closed on Monday but this location is also good! They both have very good grub! Actually are the only 2 Chinese restaurants I eat at now for several reasons. But the main reason is the pork fried rice is great at both locations and when I order my usual General Tso chicken its all the way cooked an the chicken is a little crunchy and not soggy like some other restaurants. I dont like the chicken when its soggy like its been sitting on the buffet it gets soggy an no crunch! So these 2 have the good egg rolls and crispy General Tso combos and are hands down the best 2 in town!“

“I have gone here for years and know plenty people who have too. Everyone loves this place. It seems as though reviews for even the best places in town always have a few that give rotten reviews. I have never had a bad experience at this restaurant and I could overlook one time, if I did. Overall, I still think this place is excellent.“

“Not sure why this is receiving decent reviews. It’s a Chinese takeout. The pork egg rolls were delicious. Great portions. Onions are healthy and add flavor so if you’re not into onions, don’t order fried rice. Combination plates delicious. Ordered delivery and it arrived hot. This is our go to.“

“This was my 1st visit here and overall the food was pretty good. I tried the shrimp fried rice and shrimp egg rolls. The egg rolls were delish, nice and crunchy and very flavorful. The rice was good as well. The only thing with the rice is I would have preferred the onions be cut a little smaller but again overall pretty good. The restaurant was clean and the staff was very nice. I will visit again.“

“My family ordered takeout from here again tonight for dinner, and it was another great experience! We had a pretty big order, but the staff at the front counter was so friendly and patient. They took the time to answer all of our questions and explain what came with each meal.

Our order was ready quickly, and by the time we got home, everything was still hot and fresh. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the customer service was excellent. We'll definitely be back, and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food and great service!“

“I ordered the beef lo mein, and as the store name implies, it "taste good".
I called in my order and arrived about 10 mins after, I was quoted an oddly specific time of 7 mins. However, when I arrived I waited about 10 more mins for the food. That being said, it was fresh so I'm not complaining.
The lobby isn't what you would call inviting or necessarily clean. The menu is old printed paper with typos but they also have the classic menu at the counter. See attached pics.
They do try to distract you from the 90 health rating with a decoration hanging in front of it.“

“FANTASTIC We’ve been to many Asian and sushi restaurants, this is one of the absolute best meals we’ve had. The dumplings were phenomenal! The wrappers were thin, perfectly crisped and full of flavor. The pad Thai, drunken noodles and sushi were top notch. The hibachi chicken was absolutely the best we’ve ever had. I rate it 4 stars because the chicken was a little salty other than that everything was good I would definitely order again. “I ordered takeout from China Rose on a rainy Sunday afternoon and was seriously impressed. The packaging alone stood out — everything arrived in a thermal bag and was packed perfectly.

The food was excellent and tasted just like we were dining in the restaurant. Everything was very fresh and still hot. Our order included two sesame chickens, General Tso’s chicken, all with fried rice, plus pork rolls, wonton soup, and crab rangoon. Every single item was amazing — no misses at all.

“My husband and I were delighted by our experience here. Despite being super busy they had us seated pretty quickly and the food was out of this world. Everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented, we kept sharing our food with each other because it was so good and we wanted to try everything. HIGHLY recommend this place.“

“Wow this place was really good! I used to work in seafood so i am very skeptical of the quality of seafood at places and can taste is easily. I ordered fried okra and their hibachi shrimp and streak and it was delicious and fresh tasting! HUGE portion for a good price. The okra could have used more salt but honestly everything in America is over-salted so less is probably for the better lol. My order was ready on time and was delicious even after my long drive home of it just sitting in my car.

My only criticism, which may not be their fault, was that it heavily smelled like cigarettes inside their store. But there were 3 construction works eating inside at the time so it possibly could have been from them, but it was strong!

“I moved from NY so I’ve been spoiled in my Chinese food but China City is true to their “NY Style”. We have consistently ordered from them over the past 4 years and they’ve never disappointed. They don’t have a few NY items due to lack of demand but everything else has been good, and trust me when I say we have worked our way through the menu. I’m admittedly not a fan of the hot and sour soup, although I am very particular to it so to each their own. The brown gravy is peanut infused, different from what I’m used to from NY, but I’ve gotten used to it. Whenever we have NY guests we always order the steamed dumplings and they get wiped out immediately- best item on the menu!“

Good sweet and sour chicken, Chinese and American appetizers, lo mein, butter shrimp... Nothing was terrible, the wait staff is good about filling drinks, and they keep the pans refreshed consistently. Give it a try! And don't forget to look up, the ceiling is super cool.“
