“Very good lunch. BBQ is their specialty, and they are known for making their own sauce, which can be bought by the bottle. Hubby had the chicken plate and loved it. I went for the chopped pork, which was good but had more kick than I can handle. I'm a whimp! None the less without bbq sauce, the pork was flavorful and moist. I pared each bite with the cole slaw and ate it ALL. The potato salad and cole slaw were very good, and they included hushpuppies. This was our first time here, and we will go back. They seem to have popular desserts because people ordering were requesting pie. They offer whole chicken too for families. The couple who run it are pleasant and attentive! We asked where Grandpa was, and he popped his head out to say hi. He is a cooking marvel!!!!“
“I live 5 minutes from this restaurant since 06/10/2023 and have come to The Pointe during peak season. It were ok at that time. People complain about the price but seafood especially on a water view restaurant isn’t cheap. Not anywhere in the entire country. Please name a decent place if I’m wrong. Today 12/08/2023 at 8:45pm exactly my brother and I had ordered The Pointe Tacos and the Chimichanga Steak Wrap knowing it were 15 minutes before they were about to close the kitchen and probably had already cleaned everything, both meals were exceptionally good. I thank the chef at that exact date and time. I apologize that we came in so late but both of those meals proved that you put your effort into them. Your chef needs a raise!“
“5* BUT!My wife and I went to Shady Shack for lunch. It's location is right on Lake Gaston and has great views of the lake. Parking is plentiful by the marina store. We sat at the bar and had a.great lunch. Service is very attentive, food is good and the atmosphere is superb. Now here is the BUT........ draft beer at $10 a pint is too much for this place, we are not in DC or NYC we are at a bar on the lake being served beer in plastic cups. Now that's my only thing about this place, other than that go, and if you don't mind a $10 pint that's fine. I run a bar and I charge $11 for a 32oz pour! Pints are $6 or 7. Perhaps take a look at your prices shady!Thank you though for everything else.Do not let this put you off, it's a great place. Just my opinion folks.“
“You will never be disappointed at Blue Jay Bistro. You can't wrong with anything on the menu. I highly suggest ordering the Oysters Clara as a shareable, they're a classic. The cocktails are creative & so are all of the dishes. And make sure to save room for dessert & cap it off with the delicious Graceland cocktail ??“
