“The atmosphere and food were excellent!“

“Mad Co specializes in beer and pizza. Both are fresh and excellent. Te kitchen is open so you can watch them prepare the food. The bartendress was very helpful and knowledgeable about their products, the history of Mad Co, and their efforts to recover from hurricane Hellene. It was quiet for an early Saturday evening because Marshall, NC is still recovering from Hellene. If you are in the area, stop by for a beer or two, some pizza, and help everyone there continue to recover from the devastation. Everyone we met were pleasant and appreciative for us to be there. “We are in town for a month and have been enjoying Zuma coffee, baked goods (blueberry muffins!) and sandwiches. Great latte, the new espresso machine obviously working well! We’ve been enjoying the sandwiches and planning to try some provisions for an upcoming weekend to make life easier. Recommended!“

“We live just north of the village and come here often. Love Yellow Mug! Order at the counter, find a table indoors or out, they will find you when your food is ready. Terrific fresh-ground coffee, creative breakfasts, sandwiches, salads (I love The One with Quinoa and Butternut Squash—yes, that is its name). Very fresh food, veg/vegan and GF options, beer and wine, excellent wifi….one of our favorite places!!!“

“Laid back cosy vibes with gorgeous Mountain View’s from the patio and the locals who go are friendly. The kava tender who worked tonight was quick, efficient and friendly and the beverages are priced reasonably well as with the quality is excellent. Regulars come to perform awesome music for everyone to jam out to. Definitely recommend stopping by 👍“

“We’ve passed by so many times and always see a bunch of cars. We finally stopped in last night and we are so glad we did. Drinks were great, our server was fantastic. I think her name was Gretta. She gave us food suggestions and was very attentive. Food was great. Hubby had the Sea Bass special and I had the pork belly and scallops. Both delicious. The baklava pie was out of this world. I think we will be stopping by again while we are visiting. Highly recommended. Lots of people waiting for a table and take out. We loved the vibe and decor.“

“This was a wonderful way to spend a few hours. We sat on the porch with wine and some snacks from the wnc farmer’s market in Asheville, and then enjoyed a tasting with Michelle. She was delightful. She answered all of our questions about the property and the town, really connecting our experience to her and the family.“

“Great food, service, & beer selection! The fried pepperoni & cheese curds were delicious. My wife liked the firecracker shrimp Alfredo, but said it had some spice. The Greek platter was amazing as well. I got the combination to try both the lamb & chicken. The chicken tasted like souvlaki & was good, but I favored the lamb. I typically would order an old fashioned, but they did not have large blocks of ice. Given what Helene’s impact on western NC, I was happy to see this restaurant thriving & folks in good spirit. This place is a gem for the community, and I highly recommend.“

“When we arrived to Glass Onion we learned the restaurant has new owners . Dinner was just good . Couldn't wait for dessert , We had Apple Crisp , The apple pieces were so large it was hard to enjoy . We noted on our reservation that we're celebrating our 39TH Anniversary , There was no mention to us , No CONGRATULATIONS or anything . Our server was excellent , He had served us before when we dined here . We will not be dining here again .“

“We were visiting family in the area and they took us to Soba. On the way back home to VA we couldnt stop talking about how great the sushi was. Our waitress Bee was also amazing. We can’t wait for our next visit to go back!“

Pecan honey bar: ask to have it warmed. Very rich. Good taste but mostly just tastes like honey.
Breakfast chorizo burrito: very good! Sausage has a strong taste, highly recommend.
Chocolate croissant: has chocolate on the inside, light and fluffy croissant. Very tasty.
Breakfast croissant: fresh and light. The tomato gave it a good fresh taste. If you want a light breakfast but filling, this is recommend.
Strawberry flavor in the latte was a huge hit with my party.
I wish they had some of the patties cut in half to see what the inside looked like, such as the eclair. ITS HUGE!
Fast pace environment like most coffee shops right downtown. Plenty of seating inside and a few seats outside if you want to tan in the direct sunlight.“
