“I ordered a cake for my Daughter’s birthday that was gluten, egg and nut free and it was absolutely delicious. My daughter we so excited to finally get to eat a real birthday cake. It made the day extra special. Most of the other bakeries I spoke with couldn’t accommodate making a cake with substitutes within the timeline I was hoping but Shawn was able to help make this happen. We can’t wait to come back and try her other treats!”

“I really liked the vibe of this small town brewery. The layout is cool with the back deck looking out at the water. It’s wild to think what happened here just 1.5 years ago and glad to see.

The pizza was good and the garlic cheesy bread was really good. Pretzel left something to be desired - they really should blast it with more heat to soften it up. It didn’t tear, it crumbled.

Beers were good - I especially liked the red. Menu had a decent amount of options too. I definitely will come back when I’m up that way again”

“We are in town for a month and have been enjoying Zuma coffee, baked goods (blueberry muffins!) and sandwiches. Great latte, the new espresso machine obviously working well! We’ve been enjoying the sandwiches and planning to try some provisions for an upcoming weekend to make life easier. Recommended!”

“Classic Marshall staple. One of the best burgers in the Madison/Buncombe county area. Not expensive, great variety, and friendly staff. Huge and open sitting area. It's been here for decades and I hope it stays!”

“We live just north of the village and come here often. Love Yellow Mug! Order at the counter, find a table indoors or out, they will find you when your food is ready. Terrific fresh-ground coffee, creative breakfasts, sandwiches, salads (I love The One with Quinoa and Butternut Squash—yes, that is its name). Very fresh food, veg/vegan and GF options, beer and wine, excellent wifi….one of our favorite places!!!”

“Great food, service, & beer selection! The fried pepperoni & cheese curds were delicious. My wife liked the firecracker shrimp Alfredo, but said it had some spice. The Greek platter was amazing as well. I got the combination to try both the lamb & chicken. The chicken tasted like souvlaki & was good, but I favored the lamb. I typically would order an old fashioned, but they did not have large blocks of ice. Given what Helene’s impact on western NC, I was happy to see this restaurant thriving & folks in good spirit. This place is a gem for the community, and I highly recommend.”

“We had an excellent experience at Salt Face Mule! Our bartender, Kennedy, provided outstanding service. She was friendly, attentive, and made great recommendations. The food was fantastic too, fresh and full of flavor. Highly recommend stopping by! I got the blueberry waffles and added fried chicken to it.”

“We passed by Wagbar on our way to our Airbnb and just knew we had to visit. So many happy dogs playing, my dog was anxious to join everytime we passed by. I love that they take being up to date on vaccines serious. We were greeted by what I called the "Welcome committee" consisting of 3 huge golden retrievers. Got inside, ordered a few drinks and set Stash free. He was right away accepted into the group of dogs playing and shown around. Not only were all the dogs friendly and very social, but their owners were as well. Great conversations were had. Absolutely recommend this place. The employee working that day(can't remember her name) was amazing with the dogs. She took notice anytime the dogs were "bored". She would come out and entice them to play around. Hilarious seeing the regulars reaction to her approach because they KNEW what was up haha! Can't wait to visit again when we are in town.”

“Our New Year's Eve dinner at the Glass Onion was fabulous, as expected. We're new to the area and this was our second dinner at the restaurant. We started with tuna tartare, Caesar salad and the yummy complimentary rolls. I had the delicious lobster ravioli entree and my husband had the rib eye steak. Both were wonderful. We agreed that we will be regulars at Glass Onion!”

The kava tender who worked tonight was quick, efficient and friendly and the beverages are priced reasonably well as with the quality is excellent. Regulars come to perform awesome music for everyone to jam out to. Definitely recommend stopping by 👍”

“We dropped in to take out a couple of Raichyl sandwiches along with brunswick stew and butternut soup. OMG, the butternut soup was the star of the meal. The sandwiches were delicious but that butternut soup was oh so yummy. It's a small locally run business so set your expectations on that level. The staff is friendly and helpful. If you're wanting fastfood go to Hardee's.”
