“Cute little restaurant. We stopped in for an early lunch on Sunday, and we were seated immediately. We had burgers, and they were great. This place definitely has the old school laid-back atmosphere of a family diner. Go check them out.“

“Just about the best fish camp in the state. Amazing perch, flounder, and catfish. Get them salt-and-peppered. The red slaw they serve by default is good, but if it's not your cup of tea they have white slaw as well. Their hushpuppies are probably/definitely the best I have ever had.“

“Just, WOW! I was in town for a cycling event and happened on this sundries shop for breakfast. Go for a morning coffee and veggie quiche, but stay for the service. The cashier (perhaps the owner) was so encouraging and supportive as I was obviously about to go on a bike ride and my server was so sweet. The eating area is exceptionally clean and very inviting. I could sit in a relaxing chair catching up on morning news while watching others sharing quiet conversations around the rest of the restaurant. “What a hidden gem! Everything is freshly made. Salads are superb. Food cooked to perfection. Fish and meats tender and moist and seasoned perfectly. Bartender is a master. My vodka martini was a delight. All of our drinks were perfectly made and well presented. Waitstaff was extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive. “My favorite place to get a burger. Always cooked to perfection. Never had a bad waitress, always attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. Atmosphere? It's on the lake! Pricing is reasonable. I paid $27 for 2 burgers and sides and drank water. But you won't find a better burger!“

“I was recommended by a co-worker so we stopped on our lunch break I had the flounder with fries and coleslaw the food was hot and fresh just how I like it the only drawback was that the fish and fries needed season and the coleslaw taste like it was just made and had not marinated because the mayonnaise flavor was over powering. “Awesome lunch.My grandfather has recently been in and out of hospital and loves seafood. We arrived in Albemarle at lunchtime to visit Blue Bay but it was unfortunately closed (Saturday they aren't open for lunch) so we decided to try this place, Harmancos. We were all very pleased with our meals and appetizers. The blooming onion and the hamburger steak was great. The green beans tasted like they were made with love (and bacon fat lol). Our server was a young man I can't remember his name but he was A1, our drinks were always topped off and he was very kind, accommodating, and attentive. Best service I've had in a long time at any restaurant. We were one of the only tables in there but I still was astonished at the great service. Two different people (I'm assuming owner and manager) came out to check on us on two separate occasions, you can tell they are passionate about their business and it shows. I will definitely be back next time we're in town. Only complaint is they were out of mashed potatoes but as we were finishing our meal I heard the kitchen staff saying the mashed potatoes were ready so that just means they make it fresh from scratch (maybe daily) which is awesome.“
